Royal up from a Casino Royal Free Offer??

Heard it isn’t that hard to get casino offers or even free cruises now.  Can anyone comment on what it takes? Realistically, how much does one need to run through the machines to get to a level that matters to them right now?   I was debating bringing a decent amount, having some fun, and seeing if I can’t get some comps for my efforts.

I don't know there is any reasoning behind offers.  I've been on several Royal cruises and play tables every night on every cruise.  My friend has been on ONE Royal cruise in 2019 and ran a couple hundred dollars through the slots and gets offers monthly.  I have never gotten one offer.

Just keep in mind that it is sometimes cheaper to just upgrade directly, using your CR status than it is to RoyalUp.  I recently checked on a comp cruise that I have booked and the cost to upgrade directly was less than half of what the minimum bid on RU was....just something to keep in the back of your mind.

RF, I swear every time you post that it forces me to the phone to call CR to give it a try. Unfortunately it hasn’t worked that way for me yet but I am bound and determined to keep trying.🎲

Seems to me that I have read about a LOT of casino cruise peeps winning RU's

Slightly off-topic as I don't have a comped cruise but I did receive a Royal Up offer. BUT I'm cruising solo and the RU offer seems to say I'd have to pay the price for 2. So (the minimum) $60 for a Jr. Suite would be $120. Maybe I should call to clarify. Anyone have any experience with this?

You pay for 2 whether you are 1 or 4.  I am a solo as well, and it's the bid x2.

When you play table games they have to manually count points based on your play.  Introduce yourself and ask for pit boss to count your play.

Slot machines do it automatically as long as you put your sea pass into the machine or tap card available on newer ships.

I heard that some people with 600 to 800 points were receiving free cruises in 2021.

Pre covid a person needed 2400 or 2500 to become prime member which then gets you comped cruises as well as free cocktails in casino for the casino year of april 1st thru March 31st.

Due to the casino year being reduced and not many cruisers it is being said they will make you a prime member with 1500 points.

It is hard to say an exact amount.

Also depends if you bet max or min. when playing slots.

Go have fun and Win🤩

Can you remind me $s through machine to equal one point.  Historically I mostly play table games, but I know that is a very inefficient way to build status.

This is my situation too.   Thinking of playing machines this time.

5.00 per point.

12,500.00 played through for PRIME status. This gives you free yearly cruise, free drinks in casino, no fees to put money on your room charge, tons of cruise offers mailed to house…like anytime in a casino, if you can rack up points and try to break even you had a good day. That’s always the goal.

Brought in-laws on a cruise in late September on Oasis.  MIL plays low dollar slots, but isn’t a “heavy” gambler.  I think they budgeted $100-$200 for gambling and broke even. No way they put through $12500,  They have received multiple offers for free cruises since and have booked 5 of them through end of summer (more offers than that received).  Shorter cruises they’re usually offered balconies. 7 day cruises are usually insides to oceanviews.

I budgeted $100 per night and some nights walked away with small winning vouchers that I would play the next night.  By the end of my 11 night cruise I have just about 1900 points.

I was happy with those points and figured now I only need to get another 600 points to remain prime for april 1st to march 31st 2023.   Which I can easily do on my 14 night b2b in march.

But with word that only need 1500 points for prime for this year I will be just fine.

More points you have the better your offers will be.

My DH has over 5600 points and he gets offers for Jr Suites and Balconies where I get offers for mostly oceanview cabins, but easy to upgrade your cabin.

That is amazing they are getting offers like that for only playing maybe $200.  Good for them🤩

SUNSHINE, are you positive that they dropped the Prime point level to 1500 for this year.  I talked to 2 reps recently and they were clueless about it.  I will call again today but are you positive?  Dan

On our enchantment sailing in Jan there was a promo of free sailings at 800 points.  We ended up with a little over 1600 (this was our first cruise ever) and we have been consistently getting offers since then.  We gamble most of the time in Vegas there is little doubt the hold on the cruise ship machines was higher for sure, but not all that bad.  If I had to take a guess we were down maybe 500 or so across the entire cruise.
