We are booked on that cruise to Norway on the Volendam, but in the Pinnacle Suite.  We intend to cancel before final payment; still not ready to travel internationally due to covid.

But just for fun, since we are paying 70 times more than that for the Pinnacle Suite, I looked at the HAL website to see it for myself.    Right now the price they are showing for an inside cabin is $2099.  That is both me looking as a guest and logged in with my mariner number.  So I suspect the $200 was a mistake they since corrected.  I hope some people did actually manage to book it.  Although I can't see myself staying in an inside cabin, it is essentially a free trip.

It is no website mistake.  It is a special Casino Rate some of us received.

I don't know how to ask this without making someone upset about the deal we are getting. We did take advantage of this 14 day Norway cruise for $200 with the offset OBC of $200. We are looking to extend the cruise on the same ship to the British Isles another 14 day for a B2B, for another $200 with the Offset of OBC for $200 again. We have been kind of spoiled on previous cruises With HAL, being on Newer ships Koningsdam and Rotterdam, and with newer Viking ships on cruises. Are we going to be really disappointed on Volendam? We mainly just eat on Lido deck and Dive In, and loved the pizza place on Rotterdam, I dont think that is on Volendam. It's also starting to worry me that the inside Oceanview cabin might be really tight for us as well, We are in our late 40s, I suppose we can always choose to spend more time out on deck. We did just do a 21 day caribbean but had a Verandah room on Rotterdam. Just looking for reassurance before i commit to another 14 day trip....I appreciate any feedback

I think you will be fine since it is port intensive.  In 2019 We cruised on the Amsterdam(now sold) for the 51 day Tales of the South Pacific in an OV room close to an outside entrance deck.  It was a wonderful trip, but, we said no more old, small ships.  With that said, we DID consider the 14 day Venice to Venice on the Volendam due to the great casino rate..  For the great casino price, and the fact it is port intensive we decided we could deal with it.  Again, price versus pleasure.  We ultimately did not book but it was due to our current travel schedule.  I don't think at this price you will have any regrets.  And, if you do, just focus on how much money you are saving, lol.

I really appreciate the insight and I think you have a great point about being port intensive. We were trying to see if there was something on Viking that might have had airfare included (Goose Eggs), after that I started looking at HAL itineraries and low and behold saw the one for Volendam right after ours and the $200 price again and was like WHAT? Shock.

Do you know if they have Mini Fridges in the oceanview staterooms? Wife is a Type 1 diabetic and would rather keep her insulin in the cabin rather then check it in to the ship....The PCC said some do and some don't. Online it says they don't but could rent for $2 a day?

I do not know, sorry.  I do not believe we had one in our room, but, do know we could have rented one.  ALSO, I want to add that I read where someone was able to choose their HH category stateroom with their PCC versus a guarantee.  ASK about this, and mention you are aware others have been able to choose.  It is worth a try.

You will have to excuse me but what is HH category?

This is the ocean view category that you are able to book on this offer.   This was also confirmed when I put the cruise on hold it came up as an HH category guarantee on my booking confirmation.  The hold is only good for 24 hours.

@RynoWally  Here is the thread that talks about the person being able to choose the room versus guarantee.  HH is obstructed view

I don't even know how I would approach this with the PCC as far as asking, I will give it a try when I call in a few hours to purchase the second fare, trying to transfer points right now from AMEX to Delta for free Delta One round trip tickets, going to make this a first class trip. Have never flown Delta One. Going to be a heck of a trip for around $800. Guess you have to factor in Internet, Gratuities, and excursions. Still, its going to be amazing! Thank you very much for your input @FlorenceItaly

I believe the PCC only work Mon-Fri.  If all else fails, HOLD it online and call in the morning and asked to be transferred to them, if you want.  These offers are capacity controlled so this will at least ensure your room/reservation.  Online you will go all the way through the booking process until it gets to the credit card information.  It will then give you the option to pay in full or HOLD room for 24 hours.  Our DS and DIL love Delta.

@RynoWallyThis is from the cabin description Q & A

Volendam FAQs
Does my stateroom have a mini-fridge? A mini-fridge is included with Vista, Neptune and Pinnacle Suites only. Guests who need to refrigerate medication should store it in the ship’s infirmary, as mini-fridges aren’t cold enough for that purpose.
What's the cost for mini-fridge rentals? $2 per day, upon request.

Please don't worry about this! We're on the 14 day Norway cruise and think it's great you were able to secure such a great deal!

The Volendam is in dry dock right now so at least we know it will be bright and shiny when we board😄

Please join us on the roll call, there are many good ideas for private tours arranged by some of our members and a couple of get togethers that will be held.

Monday, 02-21-22 is a Holiday in the USA, Presidents day in case you can't get a hold of you PCC, who can book Casino offers for you. You can also call the Club 21 phone # on the offer.

Thanks all, was able to get everything taken care of today. I kept it as a guarantee, she said she could look into assigning it if I wanted to, but she would recommend waiting it out for an upgrade as of now, both 14 day cruises are linked together so going to roll the dice on cabin assignment. I'll be more than happy with just being somewhere that is not here....

I just looked at the website and room size varies greatly. The Volendam doesn't show verandah cabins, just lanai or signature suites. When we've gone with an ocean view, depending on how the bed is situated (on a side wall or under the window) we opt for the twin set-up if it's under the window. It's much easier to look out the window and easier to store stuff on the window ledge. And we're on the May 15 sailing of the Volendam. Can't wait!

I didn't realize the R class (Volendam) has Signature Suites.  I thought that those commenced with the Vista class.  When were those installed?

I used my offer for the free ocean view and then added Club Orange on so I could upgrade the category and pick my room. Just food for thought for anyone else considering these offers.

Curious who you called to add Club Orange?

No signature suites on the Volendam.  I suspect that was a typo and Susie meant Vista suites.
