Fari Winds and Following seas Mr. and Mrs. Silver.  Did you original itinerary include some Madagascar ports?  On the Explorer's Capetown to Zanzibar itinerary next month Richards Bay and four Madagascar ports were removed and additional Seychelles ports added.

Hi Wes, it did but they got binned some months ago along with the visit to Namibia. We are supposed to get more time in Zanzibar.

Best wishes for your flights and boarding in Cape Town. Fingers crossed you and fellow passengers all stay negative throughout the cruise and you all have a fantastic time.

Cheers Les.

Our flight was good, we left 20 minutes late and with fair winds arrived a little early. Food and service ok, entertainment system completely crap. Immigration was relatively painless, we gave our SA health forms in and had to show our 72 hour PCR certificate and there was only a very short line for passport check. Got all our bags pretty quickly and were met by our smiling driver who whisked us to the Table Bay Hotel at the end of the V&A Waterfront. Even though we were early our room was ready and here we are. We could see the Whisper as we came past the docks and the weather is a balmy 25c

The first bid for our Trivia presence has been received, awaiting further interest. Up at the crack of dawn this morning for the mandatory 7am nostril excavation.

Wait, what???  Was it mandatory at 7am?  That would be a deal-breaker!!!

Slight correction, it’s Mossel Bay. At the Captain’s reception last night he announced that the mask mandate was being relaxed from today. They are still required in the Show Lounge, in Reception and one or two other places. It is advised that guests should continue to be sensible and wear them, and it will be interesting to see if there is still compliance.

Hope you enjoy Mossel Bay. There is a small museum in town where they have a replica sailing ship, which you can climb on and explore. The town itself wasn't much from what I remember; kind of quiet and sleepy. But the coast is beautiful and on the far end of town away from the tender docks there is a lighthouse that you can climb for the views.

Hope you can find enough bandwidth to post a few pictures.

Haha, ask and you will receive! Looks like you hit all of the places that I mentioned above. Plus the Post Office tree. Well done.

Cheers JP, it was actually quite a good trip, not time enough to climb up to the lighthouse and we didn’t get tickets to climb onto the replica Caravel, but we did get a good snack lunch and some fast Wifi, so a result! Now time for a beer.
