Vagabond Knight Posted March 2, 2022 #1 Share Posted March 2, 2022 I know that many of you have sailed with other cruise lines, and all the lines all have their own unique customs, perks, flavors and ways of doing things. It would actually be a bit disappointing if they were all the same, but what small "something" have you experienced with other cruise lines that you wish Celebrity would incorporate into their cruises or into their way of doing things? Vagabond Knight Posted March 2, 2022 Author #2 Share Posted March 2, 2022 We did two Alaskan cruises on Carnival, and one thing they do that we would love to have Celebrity do is allow guests to rate and add comments about excursions. We found this to be VERY helpful!

Rare JamieLogical Posted March 2, 2022 #4 Share Posted March 2, 2022 I sailed NCL exclusively pre-COVID and have since sailed several times with Celebrity. Overall, I love Celebrity, but the two things I miss most from NCL are O'Sheehan's/The Local and CruiseNext. O'Sheehan's/The Local is a 24-hour pub-style restaurant that is included in the cruise fare. It is a nice alternative to the buffet and MDR. Sometimes you want food outside of normal dining hours but want a sit-down experience. Or sometimes you want a sit-down experience at meal times, but with a more casual vibe than the MDR. CruiseNext are a way for you to essentially get half-price deposits on future cruises. Spend $250 onboard and get a $500 deposit to use on a future cruise within four years. The Future Cruise deals on celebrity really just get you a discounted deposit, but don't really save you any money on the full cost of the cruise.
SWFL Cruisers Posted March 2, 2022 #5 Share Posted March 2, 2022 Keeping the same type of music in the same venue like HAL does. I hate that on Celebrity the band will play a set in the Ensemble and then move to another venue. Keep them in the same spot so we don't have to chase the band around the ship.

Their slots are better, but the cigarette smoke was awful. We were in the Haven, so not an issue, but when we left the smoke from the casino was everywhere. I'm sure you think that's funny, but it seems rather short-sighted IMO. I found both the ratings and the detailed comments from people who'd taken specific excursions to be very helpful. I'm pretty sure something like that would have helped us regarding a couple of the Celebrity excursions we've taken, and I would have gladly provided extra info to others that could have given them a better idea of what to expect on a few of the Celebrity excursions. basenji56 Posted March 2, 2022 #11 Share Posted March 2, 2022 This is not exactly on point, but I wish that Celebrity would load four drinks to the card of Elite members that can used during the entire day as you get for being a Diamond member on Royal.

finny2 Posted March 2, 2022 #16 Share Posted March 2, 2022 The one thing NCL had (other than O’Sheehans) was a dedicated accessibility officer. When we got to our cabin there was a note from her with contact information and letting me know that she would be available to help with any questions or concerns. So good to have someone to contact.
WonderMan3 Posted March 2, 2022 #17 Share Posted March 2, 2022 Offer a completely self-contained suite experience like MSC does. They're getting closer with Beyond but they've still got the spa and fitness center mixed in.
josh1324342 Posted March 2, 2022 #18 Share Posted March 2, 2022 Princess Medallion and their internet. Princess uses a different satellite technology with much higher bandwidth and lower latency. Hopefully someday soon, all the cruise lines can switch to Starlink and I can work remotely while enjoying a cruise.

Fist fight in the MDR was the last straw. That was the last of my four Carnival cruises. Ecstasy, Fantasy, Conquest, and Victory. Children, everywhere children. 2

Once we started experiencing adults only all inclusive resort vacations, we appreciated vacations with few if any kids. I never minded the Spring break young crowd. They were fun to be around, but we outgrew that too. Now that we are beginning our 60's we like the more sedate nature of Celebrity. But sometimes I miss the "party in my brain" atmosphere Carnival offered. It was fun for us. But definitely not for everyone. I'm guessing we're done with Carnival now, but that doesn't mean we have any regrets. Never experienced a fight in the MDR but if we did, I'd blame the guests. Not the cruise line. There are fights on Cruise Critic too because some people like to be jerks. Is that Cruise Critic's fault or the jerk's fault?

I play slots a lot when cruising and I would definitely take Celebrity's smoke-free casinos over most of NCL's any day. To NCL's credit, they have walled off the smoking area on their newest ships, so it's not as bad as it once was.

I always say it depends when & where you cruise as to the # of children and the # of immature adults. 12 day Hawaii always great. 3 day Bahamas too much for us.We just turned 70 and after NCL, Princess, & RC we are trying Celebrity. Hoping it suits our times!
