I ordered the port and cupcakes for Valentine's Day and was impressed. Definitely recommend 😀 There are some great tasting rooms up State St, in the Mission District. Let me know if you would like recommendations, we are club members at a few of them. They are walking distance from the Water Shuttle location. Check in was a breeze, other than security confiscating the wine because there wasn't a wine table yet. Grrrrr. We'll be reunited soon my medicinal friends! 😀 During the pause and our cancelations, we amassed enough F CC's to do Club Class. A couple of months ago there was a sweet deal on suites for the second leg that I pounced on like a kitten on yarn. Two weeks ago, I emailed the upsell department, with this being a 20th anniversary celebration and all, and with gift cards left over, I upgraded the first leg as well. Somehow, no clue how, I kept the secret to surprise Tom. Since we're in a suite (Tom doesn't know this yet-Happy Anniversary!) we are waiting in the elite area with lovely pastries and nice coffee... much better than that hotel rubbish. 🏨 #love tastycoffee Can't wait to get onboard and start things out!! Congratulations on your cruise , upgrade and anniversary - An upgrade is a surprise that we Love ! Looking forward to hearing about your cruise .

Rare Ken the cruiser Posted March 12, 2022 #32 Share Posted March 12, 2022 My DW just read on a private Princess FB group they are now allowing folks to once again serve themselves up at the buffet on the Ruby? Is this also the policy on the Majestic?
KLM3164 Posted March 12, 2022 #33 Share Posted March 12, 2022 Love your lunch photos! Especially the avocado/shrimp appetizer and the orange soufflé for dessert. I also see you have excellent taste in champagne! This is a favorite of mine and DH as we first had it the night we got engaged in 2004. If you are able to post MDR dinner menus and daily Patters it would be greatly appreciated.

I’m looking forward to the cupcakes! I’ve never been to Santa Barbara and I thought this tour offered the most opportunity to see the area.

Can you send me the e-mail to use to contact the upsell department. I called (the general Princess number) yesterday to inquire about upsells and they just told me 'not available yet'. I am on Majestic for a cruise in May so I am ahead of myself right now but anxious to follow your experiences on the Majestic. Have fun and thanks for posting!
Protirees Posted March 13, 2022 #36 Share Posted March 13, 2022 I am trying to figure out the electrical plug type from your pictures. Can you tell me what types of plugs are available in your cabin--US and Euro 2 or 3 prong?--so that I can make sure I take the appropriate adapters with me? Thanks so much for posting about your cruise. Much appreciated.

san diego sue Posted March 13, 2022 #38 Share Posted March 13, 2022 Happy cruising JWattle. Always enjoy your posts so am looking forward to your impressions. You were lucky to be able to upsell to a Suite. Upsell Dept. is a great way to upgrade yourselves. The person that works in that dept. is very nice.

Rare jwattle Posted March 13, 2022 Author #41 Share Posted March 13, 2022 May be the post won't disappear this time: Concierge lounge is great! Cesar said to think of it as an extension of our living room. I took that figuratively. Apparently some took it literally, like the gentleman who walked in this morning in a robe and slippers. 😮 Last night we went to Bistro Sur la Mer. Delicious! Tom had pate and duck, while I had ahi and scallops, followed by the floating island dessert. All were cooked perfectly, and the dessert was as if key lime pie and creme brulee had the most amazing combination! Later, I popped in to use my casino credit. It gave a little back so I figured I'd play that out, but I won$750! Time for bed after that!
Rare jwattle Posted March 13, 2022 Author #42 Share Posted March 13, 2022 This morning was our Cruise Critic gathering. Shore side had told me 10, but the ship said 11, so officers didn't come until 11, and a bunch of our people left by then. It was great to put faces with the names and get to know the people! The shop is very supportive of Cruise Critic. I'll read back through and try to answer questions. The food in Club Class at embarkation and suite breakfast was wonderful, but I'm afraid that my cruise clothes are going to shrink at the rate we're going!

I would pair a red wine with duck, and with seafood,, especially. with shellfish, I would be inclined to go for white wine. Decisions, decisions. Wait!!! We're on a cruise. Rare jwattle Posted March 14, 2022 Author #50 Share Posted March 14, 2022 Yesterday was a nice first day to be drowsy, especially since we got our invite to the Winemakers Dinner! Definitely want to be rested for that, bright eyed and bushy tailed. Also, it was so foggy we thought we'd committed a party foul and he was taking us back home to Humboldt. The fog Horn was blowing every two minutes to let smaller vessels know "move over, or be moved!" So, the Winemakers Dinner: delightful!! It was formal night, and Tom turned out in beautiful togs as always. For those who say pictures or it didn't happen, here you go friends: my apologies, I agree dessert before I remembered pictures. Sorry, not sorry! 😀
