OBC what do you use it for?

I know when we were on Princess we could cash at least some of it out at the casino by using the slot machines. We already have the Always package. Might order a few fancy cocktails. I prefer to use shore excursions available in port by the local sellers rather than purchase the ship's excursions.

 

What are some others using their OBC for?

We always use it for specialty dining on sea days.
 

We don’t really shop on board and we always have the premium drink package. We usually do all our excursion through 3rd parties.

I'd guess I'm pretty typical.  Some dining and some shore excursions, **although** this next cruise I am using most of it for dining (like the Boulud dinner or champagne dinner).  I haven't even booked my excursions yet for my Sep 2022 cruise.

Because this gets asked so often I've compiled a list of things to spend OBC on. The only thing I know of now that you CAN'T buy with OBC is a deposit on a Future Cruise. You need a credit card for that.  Also, there may be some card game in the casino with a cash only buy-in.   If they do a fundraiser, like selling t-shirts to “save the reefs” and the like, expect to need cash for that.  Otherwise, here you go:

Last cruise (on another line) my cabin mate and I had piles of OBC to spend out on the final night, as did many others. We scoured the shops and ended up with a wonderful (if overpriced) cashmere wrap that I otherwise would never have bought. But spas are also a wonderful idea. Sadly, I don't have a penny of OBC for this coming trip. I have done something very wrong 😌

@cruisestitch how do you buy flowers with OBC because I can’t figure it out?  I can only do it with a credit card.  Do you call someone?  Email?

Flowers can be purchased on the ship.

Bought an iPad and handbag using non refundable OBC.  
if your OBC came directly from your TA , it may be refundable.  See guest relations and cash it out.

I always use almost all of it for casino chips , Celebrity has a great deal if you buy 50 in chips or slot play they will give you 55. So last cruise I bought 600 and received 660.

Ive told the +1 she may buy a handbag from OBC.... In the end one pice luggage more to carry home (and NOT a handbag) 😁
