Independence of the Seas Capacity Now

Hi All,

Going on The Independence May 2nd, just wondering if anyone who has cruised in April can share how many passengers onboard?  Crowded? Lines?  I read reviews from Spring Break and so glad I didn't cruise then, but May should be different I HOPE!

I believe they're full capacity now but with some staffing shortages/challenges.

So what does full capacity mean?  Don't they have to leave a number of cabins available for quarantine?  As well as the short staff issues.

 

We see so many posts asking about capacity.  I too have the same question.  It would be nice to have some official guidance from the cruise line.

Yes, but that is likely less than 5% of cabins. So instead being able to get up to 120% capacity, the max would be maybe 110% - not sure how much diff that makes in the grand scheme of things.

 

No, you will not get any kind of specific numbers from RCI, other than some generic "we'll sail at 100%" message the CEO throws out to satisfy the investors.

You should expect all ships to be sailing at same capacities precovid for May.    Do a mock booking and see how many cabins are left for sale for your sailing.   That should give you a good idea.

Yes, they still reserve minimal amt of cabins for crew quarantine and the very few passengers that get quarantined.

Sailed the Independence a few weeks ago.  It was close to full capacity with lines at the windjammer during peak times and a crowded pool deck.  The party is over!!!

I will be as full as the number of people booked.  There is no cap

Was on her in February of this year and we were at around 75% according to the crew so I'd anticipate you'll be back to normal when you sail.  I'll be on Indy again in June for a 3 night quickie!

Pretty much the same as pre-pandemic levels.
