Pacific Explorer dry dock photos

Thanks Mr Kiwi,

Seeing those gives me flashbacks to the Sean Riley worst jobs episode on Sea Princess. She looks great with a fresh lick of paint, but I reckon the cabin furniture and bathroom will still be original.

I know where you are coming from here 🙂 - but I have to say that we sailed on Pacific Dawn for nearly 10 years and helped the Captain bring her back from a refit in Singapore in 2019 ( via Komodo Island and an overnight in Darwin) and she looked better inside and outside than we had ever seen her. 🙂 - and then came the pandemic. I would love to see her as AMBIENCE. After sailing many times from Southampton, I have always wanted to sail from Tilbury in London. Who knows what the future holds??

Hope they're giving her more than just a lick of paint.  In her previous guise as Dawn Princess she was easily the worst ship I've ever been on.  Air conditioning that didn't work, breaking down 3 hours into the cruise, water leaks all over the ship (when my parents cruised on her).  She needs a LOT of loving attention before I'd consider her fit for cruising ever again.

She first arrived here a year after Pacific Dawn, so has definitely become part of the furniture.

Done 2 as Dawn Princess and 2 as Pacific Explorer. We were last on her for Australia Day 2020, and she was shipshape then.

She did several world cruises Sydney - Sydney. No doubt knocked her around a bit, all those beer swilling Aussies, lol.

In aviation it's called a Dulux Overhaul.
