Rare VMax1700 Posted May 28, 2022 #3 Share Posted May 28, 2022 No it does not. Rolling Stone Rock Room is only on Pinnacle class ships (Rotterdam, Nieuw Statendam, Koningsdam)
gailellen12 Posted May 29, 2022 Author #4 Share Posted May 29, 2022 I wonder why they list certain events for the Oosterdam June 1 Cruise as being in the Rolling Stone lounge🥴 deck
Rare VMax1700 Posted May 29, 2022 #5 Share Posted May 29, 2022 We get on the cruise after you (June 13th) and our itinerary is still only showing 'casino' events, although Speciality and MDR reservations are showing ok. (we are not on a casino rate!)

No. On the Pinnacle class ships, there are separate Rolling Stone and BB King clubs.

My bad, I knew that, the question should have been are they going to replace the BB Kings on all the Vista and Signature Class ships?

For the Vista Class ships, why not have alternate evenings of BB KIng and the Rolling Stone Lounge? Maybe another HAL cost cutting measure? Rock Room bands: about 5 members; BB King's bands: about 8 members. Another possibility is HAL analyzed the revenue from each venue and found the Rock Room crowd buys more drinks. Just speculating... I personally like the blues club better. Rock is great but I could hang out in the BB Kings lounge all night.
Chewbecca Posted May 30, 2022 #14 Share Posted May 30, 2022 They would need to have two bands on board to cover both the blues and rock sets. I’m more disappointed about the loss of ATK in that venue.
Rare VMax1700 Posted May 30, 2022 #15 Share Posted May 30, 2022 (edited) I have just looked at the latest edition of the 'Ships at a glance' chart on the website and indeed Oosterdam and Noordam no longer have BB Kings Blues Clubs but have 'Rolling Stone Rock Lounge' (not 'Rolling Stone Rock Room' as on Pinnacle class ships). Apologies to @gailellen12for the earlier posted incorrect information. hal-ships-at-a-glance-05-23-22.pdf Edited May 30, 2022 by VMax1700 missing end parenthesis

When we were on her a month ago, BB King’s was the big event. I guess that’s just changed over.

Blues dominated, of course, but, there was some rock thrown played as well. And, then, there was some music played that I am unsure in which genre it fits. (Example: Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive. When that was played by this group on Rotterdam VI, the dance floor was packed. And, I was there as well) 1
Tucson Traveler Posted October 6, 2022 #18 Share Posted October 6, 2022 Copied over from a board that was talking about this for Zuiderdam... same principle. That board is We were on the Niew Amsterdam last October (2021) and the ship had BB King's. It was great the first time we went, bopped around in our seats and sang along to a lot of songs. Yes, there was a great deal of Motown, but who doesn't love a good Motown song for getting you going. Here was the problem - the room is not that big and the band had their amps up SO HIGH it was distracting from the music itself. Loud can be fun until it's painful. If they had turned the amps down a notch or two, we would have been back a lot more often. Yes, it got a crowd and it's the ONLY place on the ship that people can dance. Hopefully when we're on the Oosterdam in December for the SA/Antarctica 22-day cruise Rolling Stone's Lounge will be running smoothly. Agree, no Top 40 - just good classic choices that most people know the words to. PS - Neither venue is showing on the ship information pages for the Oosterdam. Made me come looking here to see if they're doing away with both.
Tucson Traveler Posted October 6, 2022 #19 Share Posted October 6, 2022 All in all we are looking forward to our 22-days on the Oosterdam and seeing the Antarctic before it melts. We'll try any and all music venues with open minds.
