Thank you. Do you happen to know if the martini’ s are a good size ship wide or would a person find then a little on the small size?

If you're on the package it really doesn't matter. Just get another one. 🙃

In answer to your original question. I have never seen a discount on the package on any of my cruises since they started having it. I have seen discounts multiple times on Celebrity, but that wasn't the question.

LOL.
Of course not. The only break you’ll ever see for a booze package is when O does “ultimate O Life” and you get all three perks. Still then, you’ll need to pay the extra $20 pp/day to get the upgrade to “prestige” package.

We found the Happy Hour 2 for 1 drinks were small - to -normal size, but the regular bar martinis were a good size.

This is a little off the subject but when I was on Regatta in March, there was one evening before dinner when Martinis offered regular size complimentary martinis of several varieties. It was a nice surprise as it was the first O cruise I was on where they offered it. I don't know if that's going to be a regular thing going forward.

Enjoy your cruise.

Usually the second night of every cruise has the Captain's Welcome where there are free drinks for 3 hours. Sometimes when there have been issues they will have an open bar to soothe things over. Missed ports etc.

This was on a different night from the Captain's Welcome reception.  The free martinis in Martinis was listed in Currents and was open to everyone whereas Captain's Welcome is by invitation. This was only my 5th O cruise but it was the first cruise I've been on that did this. I don't know how common it is. There were no issues like missed ports, etc so it was a very nice surprise and my martini was excellent.

I'm sorry, but no, the Captain's Welcome is for everyone. You might have it confused with the repeaters party. Or something else. No invitation necessary.

Perhaps  it was  due to limited capacity cruise  & they were trying to drum up future business

Captains  party is usually open to all

Perhaps it depends on the cruise or has something to do with the length of the cruise. I know for sure that on our 10 day Regatta cruise, we received an invitation in our cabin for the Captain’s Welcome. The Captain and staff were there to greet us. The O Club Ambassador was there to recognize repeaters. There was no other welcome reception on this cruise.  If there are free drinks and food, we are there and there definitely was not another one on our March cruise. I read Currents every day and that’s how we knew about the free martinis in Martinis.

Most likely due to  covid  & one of the  early sailings of Regatta  with limited pax  that is my immpression

I agree with Orv  usually the Captains Welcome party is 2 night  & the invites are for the repeaters  this was pre Covid so things may be in transition

The Captain’s Welcome was not listed in Currents. It was by invitation. I am a diligent reader of Currents and it wasn’t in there. They highlighted  repeater passengers. There was no other reception.

As I said Pre Covid  the Captains party is open to all  but maybe due to Covid  things may have changed

They would not want the Captain to come down with covid on day 2

My guess is that the free martinis in Martinis, which was open to all,  replaced the Captain’s party open to all.  It appears they’re doing some things differently post Covid.

Yes, I think I've read that post Covid they didn't have the Meet the Captain, but I think the free drinks were still there. Personally I never went to Horizons on the Welcome night. More fun in Martinis or Casino bar.

I'm sure many things have been done differently post covid, my experiences are all pre covid. But we're fixing that in a couple of months.

When we were on the Marina in November.....they had the Welcome reception (sans Captain and senior crew) but it was really a 2-3 hour free drinks at any open bar.  I think there was one more evening they did the same 2-3 hour free drink evening.

BASOR - Was it mobbed when the free drinks were offered?

Currently on Insignia (last two segments of ATW). On the first segment there was a Captain’s “cocktails event” without a Captain. Just open bar in Lounge/Martinis/Horizons. There were also two O Club Invited parties (guests split into two nights in Lounge) with O Club milestone recognitions done.

With less than 300 passengers onboard, no location had any “crowd” on any night for any event.

Just starting final ATW segment. Even with approx 200 more folks having embarked yesterday, I expect it’ll still be the same “not terribly crowded” events situation.
