How long is it taking to get your refundable OBC check?

We took some B2B cruises on the Majestic ending on March 26th and still haven't received our refund for our refundable OBC yet. It usually didn't take that long pre-Covid, but who knows in todays world. Anybody have any feedback on how long it is taking these days?

Thanks

I was told 6-8 weeks from customer service, we sailed on the May 7th Crown and we are owed refundable OBC, excursion money as well as charges for speciality dining that were improperly charged as we had pre-paid for this pre-cruise.  I really have little confidence at this point that Princess will refund us in that time frame but I hope I'm wrong.

We had an issue where they closed the casino a day earlier than we expected and couldn't get our money out of the casino account. We disembarked on May 14 and it took about 3 weeks for the check(s) to arrive.

We disembarked April 9, 2022.  After nine weeks of waiting for the OBC check, I did the following:

Go To Princess Home Page.

Click "Contact Us" at bottom of page (a black box)

Go to Support Request

From drop down, select "Post Cruise Questions / Comments"

Select "Onboard Folio Statement" under Select a Topic

I completed the necessary information and calmly explained the situation and inquired when to expect the check.

In two days, the amount was posted to my credit card.

You might give it a try.  I was pleasantly surprised.

Thanks MN Syrup Cruiser. I just followed in your footsteps and filled out the form on line. We'll see if it works out for me as it did for you. Always in the past we received a check in the mail. I wonder if they changed to simply putting a credit on your credit card. I've never heard of them doing that for OBC, but maybe things are changing once again.

Thanks I appreciate your help and advise.

Thank you for the advise.. I just emailed Princess through the contact method as you suggested.    We disembarked May 1,2022.   I couldn’t find my booking number.. so hopefully they will be able to locate my account!!

We were on Discovery April 24-29. Sent an email asking what "referred to Corp. Finance" meant. I was pretty sure it meant refundable OBC. Got my answer from CC before I got an email response from Princess.

It's apparently the "new" way to tell you that you have refundable OBC.

The email said I would receive a check within 4-6 weeks. This is me holding my breath...🤢

Disembarked Discovery in early April & it took 8 weeks to receive a check which was reduced by 25%.

The day before the cruise ended the refundable amount was correct but the emailed version the day after the cruise ended was reduced by 25%. Emails to their Director of Customer Relations didn’t correct the issue despite providing documents showing their mistake.

That's why it's preferable to get the refund on the ship whenever possible.

However our $260 of refundable credit could not be provided onboard (maximum of $25)…unless we were to launder it through the casino. 😉

Every time I see that you have posted on a Refundable OBC thread, I look to see if you’ve gotten that straightened out yet. I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this. As you know, I chased refundable OBC from Australia cruises for…well, by the time we received the check, it was ten months post-disembarkation. A few years earlier, it took four months or so. I’ve sent copies of our final on board statements to Princess countless times over the years, which makes the accountant in me crazy.

That’s why, we’ve given up. They win. We won’t leave a ship with a penny of refundable OBC left on our statement. I won’t buy overpriced crap jewelry or even more overpriced crap “art”work to spend it, but will purchase Clinique items that I use all the time and that really are cheaper than the prices I can get at home.

Same here, we NEVER leave the ship with any remaining OBC's!  There are always great wines by the bottle to spend it on!  🍷

Again, thank you MN Syrup Cruiser for your obviously well-intended advice you provide me on getting my refundable OBC returned to me, but I certainly did not get the same results that you did. After sending the email in with no action after a week I went into the Live-Chat and discussed my situation with a lady called Kristine. After about 15 minutes of discussion she told me I had to file a formal request on Princess supplied forms, which she emailed to me. Having never had to do that before in my 20 Princess cruises I decided to "bite the bullet" and make the dreaded call to Princess. To my utter amazement I was connected in only 5 minutes. As anyone having the usual hour plus wait on the phone could imagine, I was celebrating and thinking I was obviously the luckiest person in the world, but my jubilance was short lived. After about 45 minutes of discussing my situation with Rosie she said she would be unable to provide any help. She said she could connect me with the Accounting Dept., but the wait would be pretty long. Again I decided to bite the bullet and asked her to connect me. Almost 2 hours later and suffering from that dreadful music that I'm sure is met to discourage anyone from hanging on the line I was connected to another gal that didn't give me her name, but finally after providing her with all the details she told me they would be cutting a check in 8 to 10 days and sending it to me for only $169. I'd kept a copy of final billing statement which showed a refundable balance of $222.71, but this person (whoever she might be) said the check would be for $169.93. I told her the amount shown on the statement clearly indicated the refundable amount would be $222.71. She simply said: "not all of that amount is refundable". I'm not convinced this is over yet. I will wait to see what the check turns out to be (if it comes at all) before I proceed further. I'm sorry if this sounds like complaining; I only wanted to let people know that there clearly is a problem that use not be there with getting the refundable OBC back. After over 3 hours of telephone time, 2 cups of coffee waiting (my morning limit), numerous solitaire games and a headache from that terrible banging music I don't really have any advice for others in a similar situation. But I did want to pass on this problem to anyone that might be interested. For now I will just have to wait and see what develops and wish everyone good luck.

Tom

Unfortunately we never got any reply to our problem & after 8 weeks received a check short by 25% despite providing their documents as proof of their mistake. Like you, I’ve given up attempting to get them to provide customer service & to correct their mistake. They win but due to this & other issues will lose a 500 days Princess loyalist…a trivial number in comparison to your Princess loyalty.

Like me, the Accounting Department reduced your refund by about 25%. My final statement I got onboard clearly showed the correct amount but the emailed post-cruise amount & check were shortchanged. Maybe the 25% is a new processing fee. 🙄

Hopefully you’ll have better luck than us. 🤞
