We booked  while on board for an Alaska cruise for 2023, We t switched to Scenic Scandinavia June 2023. After we switched  last Summer , the price of cruise went down a couple hundred $ , and later they added Silver Spirit package this Fall. Viking does not give you the lower price . Now the cruise is sold out. Your choice.... Mr. Gambler. 🤩

We booked our own airfare.

But the Hawaiian cruise is airfare within USA same port of departure. 

Thanks for the advice. We live outside Los Angeles so air is not necessary. I do intend to talk with the agent onboard, but probably will wait until there is a special. Just tried of not getting what the late bookers are getting.  If we can’t get a special, we will check with other cruise lines, possibly going to another destination.

Crap-I knew we should have waited!
 

For our July 19th departure V2 is now $1,500 pp less than what we booked last August. Even the revised cabin which we picked up during the December promo which let us move to a DV2 and obtain SS is $300pp less.

I keep trying to figure this out too. It seems like it is a crap shoot. Book up front and likely pay more -but also likely save on airfare and hotels - or wait,  and possibly pay more for the two other factors and save on the cruise.  I sure don’t have the answers!

It’s so hard to figure out. Booking early gives us better opportunities to use miles and that plays big for us. I wish it was easier. But with the amount of miles it’s taking now, those will be gone sooner than planned!  What matters most is just making it happen somehow.

Good luck.  There are 6 of us trying to coordinate a river cruise, and most are almost sold out.  Not many room choices left

Thanks Springtravel. This will be my first river cruise. It will be a very different experience from the ocean cruises I've taken. Hope you and your group of 6 will find a good river cruise.

Unfortunately river cruises book early and trying to find 3 cabins can be problematic unless you book far out, which limits the discounts available.

We tried the code SGM23 for multiple river cruises, and was available on most of the shorter ones.  European Sojourn was not one of them.  But if you are interested in any of the others, try to code and see if it works.

Thank you.  Unfortunately, Viking does not specific exactly which specific dates qualify for this sale.  If you go to the various sale itineraries, it appears that the early dates have the stateroom upgrade and dates after summer 2024 do not, even though they appear in the price and build list from this web site sale page.  You have to be careful.
