Did you sail Viking in the past 12 months? We all get $200 per person past guest discount without any special discount code, if we book within 12 months of last Viking cruise. With the promotion mentioning 'Double Past Guest Discount' it is just the $100 doubled and not a doubled doubled discount. The Special Future Guest Promotion letter shows "Past Guest Discount Save Up To $400 Per Couple" which would be $200 per guest and in the fine print mentioned you have to have sailed with Viking in the past 12 months save $400 per couple, all others save $200 per couple. If more than 1 year it’s $100. “Double Past Guest” really gives you the same as a guest who has sailed recently. This promotion started after COVID, probably to entice guests who haven’t traveled with them in a number of years. Obviously, Viking is seeking to maximize revenue, but this is possibly at the expense of building goodwill (no need for a company to be concerned with this when refunds that should have been automatic can be called "goodwill"😜) and loyalty. Prior to the shutdowns (when we had two VO bookings cancelled), I expected to only cruise with Viking. But, our first cruise after the resumption was last August with Oceania. In the right circumstances we would sale Oceania again. However, I now look at itineraries from a few different cruise lines in the the upper premium and luxury categories before any booking. We presently have an October 2024 VO cruise (Rome to Athens) booked, in large part because of the discount code we used that was disclosed on this thread. If you choose river cruises, then Treasures of the Rhine, you are sent to the Canadian site even though the URL reads as the US site. This isn’t the case for other river cruises. Have never seen that price. Difficult to pass up, but already have 2 cruises booked for fall. Was on Hawaiian Islands Sojourn last Dec, at $4,999 incl air and SSBP. December 14th 2024 now $3,999, same inclusions. Incredible deal! (Spoke too soon, that price now gone, next Cat. V1 $4,099, still a deal! V must fill ships!
