Can reports on the Premiere Plus Prizes?

We just got off Majestic Princess. We 'won' $175 each which is exactly what we paid for the upgrade to Premiere Plus. Not sure if they did this for everyone.

BTW---I would never pay again for this upgrade. The internet was so slow that we could only use it for checking emails.

The Premium ($12-18) drinks were non-existent. I saw one $18 Margarita listed in a couple venues and there were some scotches. But no list anywhere of exactly what the premium drinks are.

We did it to ensure better wines and it was not worth it.

The QR code menus in bars/restaurants did not match what was available. Slightly better options for premium wine in the specialty restaurants. Vines has some premium wines but not the $18 champagne.

No premium wines available for room service, at the Wake Bar, Pool Bar. So extremely difficult to use.

We would have done the specialty dining anyway---we didn't like the main dining room. Tables for 2 were literally bumping elbows with the next table and I thought the food and service was marginal.

Well worth $29 for quieter space, better service and better food.

Just curious have there been anymore winners with the Premiere Princess Prizes since the original post back in July? If you are a winner, how do you know?

It shows on the panel immediately for the smaller prizes immediately. There is a presentation for the grand prizes towards the end of the cruise.

Plus the specialty restaurants had better Premium wine choices. Again, everyone has different priorities.

If there is a wine choice in stock, a guest should be able to order from the MDR as well as the SDR.  MDR has full wine list.

On the Majestic, on the last cruise day, announced on the Pattern, in the plaza deck (5), there was a presentation.  Casino Manager had envelopes with names and cabin number.  They had a few $25 prizes, (1) $100, and (1) $5,000. Only 1 winner was present, they said the other passengers would be contacted.

I imagine the chances have been better on the first voyages as not many at all would likely have the Premier option.

which is crazy because I thought the T&Cs said they'd keep drawing until they found someone.

On the Majestic August 27-Sept 3, the Cruise Director said that the Casino Manager had made random picks earlier..  Casino Manager had a silver locked briefcase with him.  He handed the envelopes to Cruise Director who read out first name and cabin #.  Only one winner was there, she went to Casino Manager, looked like she showed her medallion and signed a paper and she was handed cash.  For the $5,000, they had a big cheque.  They pulled  a paper off  to expose the first name and cabin #. They said the the other winners were going to be contacted.

On the Sky Princess, you weren't even offered the premium + wines that were offered in the MDR in the Crown Grill.....they offered the basic included wines (no identification other than grape....zinfindel, chardonay, etc).  The Medallion app showed many more wines by the glass at the capital grill, but the waiter only offered a menu with the basics.  (yes, when I showed him the menu in the medallion app and asked to see the "officer in charge", suddenly he found a way to get a glass of better wine....but that shouldn't have been necessary).

There are very very few liquors on board that aren't included in the regular drink package....a few single malts and a champagne.  No better bourbon (woodford is their "top" choice).....I think the plus package would be a complete waste of money.  We had consistent trouble with the internet on one device......why pay for frustration on more devices....etc.

The problem is the "in stock" part.  There are lots of wines on the menu that either they don't have onboard (due to "supply chain issues") or if onboard are only in one venue not convenient to the MDR.

Hell, on Regal they didn't even have some of the no-name $12 varietals listed on the MDR menu as included in the Princess Plus package.

I was thinking bottles as there are way more bottle labels available than what they pour by the glass from a subset of those labels.  (I realize that people on the PLUS are more looking for WBTG than bottles since the glass is included to $12 and bottles are only 25% off).
