Unable to book three people in a room?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I've never cruised RCCL before, but I'm looking at possibly taking a sailing next February 19th aboard the Anthem of the Seas from New York down to Florida and the Bahamas.  I'm not sure if it would be two of us going or three of us, so I'm going through the motions of booking both to see what kind of prices I'm looking at either way.

Whenever I select three people (two adults, one child), it tells me there are no staterooms available to accommodate three passengers.  But when I do the booking for two people, I can book just about any type of room, and balcony makes the most sense price-wise.  And on all the images of the balcony staterooms, there's a sofa in the room.  So that sofa can't be turned into a bed to sleep the third person?  I just got off a Carnival cruise a few days ago and that's exactly what we did.

Doing the two person booking even allows me to select the owner's suite, but somehow that same 500+ sq ft suite can't be used by a third person?

I guess I'm not seeing why it would tell me there are no staterooms available for three people when there certainly seem to be.

that means that none of the 3 and 4 berth cabins are available.

not if the cabin is not meant for 3-4 people.

That is a very popular week due to school vacation week, so wouldn't be surprised if there are no cabins for 3 or 4 people.  It also could be that there are cabins that can sleep 3 or 4 people but they ship has reached lifeboat capacity and will only book cabins for 2 people.  Not all sofas in a cabin are sofabeds either and they will not let you book 3 in a cabin for 2.

Due to the blanket nature of the lack of availability, this is likely a temporary issue - check back in a week for so.

If 3rd/4th bunks do become available again for that cruise, you may find the price for that third passenger is high… so high that you might want to consider booking two cabins.  You may want to try to think to a compatible fourth person who might wish to share the vacation and cost.  Some people book a balcony and the inside across the hall; some try for connecting or adjacent cabins.

I just looked at that cruise for you, and the pop-up appears:

Sorry, there are no staterooms available for 3 guest(s).

Please update your number of guests, choose another sail date, or call 866-562-7625 to speak to a Royal Caribbean accessibility specialist.

@febtober

I just looked on a different site.  No staterooms for 3, but there are 4 categories of staterooms if you enter “4” instead of 3 (2 adults, 2 children)

there are insides, balconies, jr suites and suites available - if you enter a total of 4 passengers.

the 4th could be a no-show (or maybe cancel the 4th prior to sailing ?)

oh, thanks!  I was checking on the - - - scanner site.  It showed the availability.  I see I should have checked Royal’s site.   🤦🏻‍♀️

thanks for correcting me.  Didn’t intend to pass bad info.

Oh, RC's site is not always correct.  I just wanted to share what I found there.

But the OP should use the phone number in the pop-up and call.
