Hoping OP received her money and the person was caught.

There has been zero evidence someone stole her voucher. What has been stated by the OP is she misplaced her purse. The purse was found and turned in. The purse was missing a voucher the OP is certain was in the purse prior to misplacing it. For some reason, many have quickly assumed the voucher was stolen...skipping over all other possibilities... Some other possible outcome examples to consider... voucher was lost by the OP prior to misplacing her purse or maybe the voucher fell out of the purse on the way to being turned in by the good Samaritan...in addition, the OP may have mistakenly forgot she had previously cashed voucher and lastly a voucher may never have existed. That being said, the correct response would be to wish the OP well in finding resolution to her issue.

person takes voucher then puts into another machine plays a bit cashes it out then the voucher number has changed. now land based casino have the technology to track each time voucher goes into a machine new one prints out etc. my friend in vegas left a $350 ticket in machine some took it and played different machine they could track it around the casino by the time they found the person it was only worth $95 lol

She could have pulled her hairbrush or something else out of her purse and the voucher came out with it.

There's also zero evidence that it wasn't stolen.  Some are quick to assume there is no way someone could have or would have stolen it and that something else had to have happened.  As it was the only thing of value in the bag, I'd say odds are it was taken.  You're assuming also which makes your opinion no more valid than those you are putting down.  You are really stretching with your guesses.

The difference is...I am not assuming anything...I am open to the concept of any possibility until it is proven otherwise...a few others are making "definitive" statements. Until the OP comes back and says it was stolen and security provided the evidence...everything until then is pure conjecture.

I never understand why people start these kind of threads and then never come back to update us one way or another.

No judgements, I'd just like to know the outcome and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

My suspicion is: To warn people that even somewhere you'd expect to have your belongings entirely safe, there may still be dishonest people.

A million percent sure. I always put it in the same part of my bag when I leave the casino. My husband was next to me. Someone else cashed it in..

As soon as you convert someone else's property to your own without permission of the owner that is theft by any definition whether you found it or not. Finders-keepers is not a defense.

Ask security to review the camera footage. There are cameras everywhere

This happened to me at Caesars Palace in Vegas.

Playing video poker at the lobby bar and was up $300 .My wife and friends showed up and said we had to run to the cab stand as we were late for a show.

I stupidly left the $$ in the machine.

Realized it 20 min later and called Caesars security. Had to stop and fill out a report when we returned.

I told them what machine it was and what time we left.

Checked out the next day and figured it was gone. My screw up.

Got a call five day later from Caesars security telling me they reviewed the tapes and a check was on the way for the total amount.

Wow.

I asked who it was and they would not comment.

The cameras see it all.

Not to be  pest... but I'm wondering what was the end result of your dilemma? Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks in advance to an update!

I am sure if there was something to tell the OP would have been back here in a flash to report it. Keep in mind originally the OP took time out of her cruise to post about it...so if there was some amazing ending...we would probably have been updated by now. It is not like she is a newby...she has over 100 posts lifetime on the site.

My guess is what she thought happened and what security found were not quite the same.  In no way implying that she lied, just that it didn’t happen as she posted.

Maybe she jumped overboard, because she was stricken with grief...

There's a very nice Mercedes SUV, sitting in the garage of the airport near me. Covered in dust. Plates expired over a year ago. Got to wonder what happened to the owner? Maybe this will be something like that.

I’m happy that I read this thread.  It was here that I learned that you can possibly track down the owner of a ticket.  That said… I won’t say the amount here but I found a ticket today on Catalina Island.  I am going to talk to the Casino Manager tonight to see if I can find it’s owner.  If you lost a ticket then please let me know the amount.  😊😊😊

They could not figure out the owner of the ticket that I found. I tried.
