If shares go to $0 your only out $17+brokerage fees - not too shabby

Hello, Newman Posted November 11, 2022 #80 Share Posted November 11, 2022 Here we are, one month later and CCL stock just closed the day at $10.35. In the short span of 30 days the stock has gained over $4.00 per share.
justafem Posted November 11, 2022 #81 Share Posted November 11, 2022 I bought (most of) my 100 stocks at $8.20. I had deposited $1000 (fidelity since they offered $100 bonus with a $1000 deposit). Then, when fidelity deposited the $100, I used the rest of the money left, plus the bonus and bought another 30 shares at $6.20. I've gotten $350 as on-board credit so far on princess, but have been denied every time on carnival. Then again, I only book casino rates on carnival, because I'm not impressed, but for a free room, I'll go (grudgingly). So my stock is now worth $1400 (for about 2 moments, we know how up and down this stock is). Don't care, I only bought it for the on-board credit.
paradiselivin1 Posted November 11, 2022 #82 Share Posted November 11, 2022 Same. Hate to say what we paid but we've lost more than that on other poor choices. I'll take the OBC and move on and not look back..

Not only was there the OBC, but also it went up in value and paid a dividend that at one point they doubled.

And if your loss exceeds the $1500/$3000 amount, it can be used to offset income in future years. Yes I have CGs. So sold CCL and another for the tax loss 👍 and bought CUK @ 6.50. Somehow I never get the bottom (5.43) but not too shabby. Will roll a tiny bit over ... the 1st qtr was great

There are so many diehards that WANT to cruise and so many newbies that were told for years they couldn't unless they got the jab. Ships are filling. My last couple were at 95%. I've watched it go from 71 pax on the first cruise out to bursting. Yeah, cruise lines are mortgaged up to their eyeballs, but we've all had economic setbacks that we bounced back from (years and years ago for us). That's why I keep buying while it costs nothing.

Nice to see a post that is the opposite of "doom and gloom".
