Casino Royal- Heads Up, Earned points but no rooms available to book

Recommended Posts

Just got off Oasis.  Played in casino every night and earned 10,000 points.  The current promotion advertises earn 9,000 points  for Jr suite w/1,000 free play.  Went to next cruise to book and was told no Jr Suites available on the sailing dates the certificate covers going on the Oasis or the Anthem.  I asked if I could pay to upgrade and they said there was nothing available.   They said the best they could do was downgrade me to a balcony cabin.

The current promotion advertises 4,000 points for balcony cabin w/$500 free play.   10,000 points should  be worth at least 2.5 balcony cabins!

Next Cruise suggested that I go back to casino host and ask them to upgrade certificate so it would include additional dates that might actually have a Jr suite available.

I tried that and as expected they said no they could not do that. They said if I couldn't use the certificate I could trade it for $1,500.

So Complimentary cruise for 2 in Jr suite w/1000 free play =  $1,500 trade in.   Really....

The host said there was nothing else they could do and that the supply is very limited.  It seems they only offer the dates that are already sold out.  why don't they offer more dates where there ARE cabins available?

I enjoy playing the slots and I didn't play JUST to earn the points because this happened on my last cruise in May.  I knew this probably WOULD happen.

But lots of folks out there do NOT know this probably will happen,   Wanted to give people a heads up.  Better to save your money for local casinos where you can actually collect what you earned on the promotions that you qualify for.

Part of the problem is the sailing dates on the current certificates have been the same for a while.    We had this same issue earlier this year and found no resolution.

We were told we could book a spacious balcony but still get the suite perks and the freeplay.

We booked it but ended up cancelling it.

Time for them to update the sailing list.

It seems like casino comped cruises are extremely limited. Hubby & I are both Prime. He has 1 current offer for very limited December sailings. I haven't had an offer since July. Even when I did get offers they were for $100 off.

Your situation totally sucks! I hope they will reconsider & offer you a new promotion.

The casino offers are getting more difficult due to ships booking up as is to be expected. We both received an offer for a JS in December. I glanced at the sailings but tossed it in the trash. We’re cruising on Celebrity at that time and none of the sailing appealed to us.

I have a friend that qualifies for at least an inside cabin every cruise.  She goes to the hostess and asks for a printout of all the eligible cruises.  She's more into the itineraries, and tries to see if there is any on the list that she can make a b2b+ on her existing booked cruises.

In our experience there are very few sailings listed on the certificate given on board, but after returning home and checking our offer on clubroyaleoffers.com, there are several pages of eligible sailings. We just get an open next cruise booking while on the ship and use it after we get home and see all of the available ones. We still get the next cruise booking OBC plus the free play offer.

Earned  over 10,000 points and checked in with casino host on last day.  Had $200 in my account.  Host said if I did not transfer the money to free play,   it would be credited to my final bill.   I did not transfer the $$ and it was NOT credited to my account.  That is $200!   I sat on hold 1 hour 15 minutes when I got my final bill and they were not able to help.  Said I had to call again in 48 hours.

they already overcharged my discover bill by the $200.

sitting on hold again....

I did not have this problem before.  My final bill was always credited correctly in the past.

I am thinking about called discover and disputing the bill??

I was under the impression that any free play you earn is lost unless you use it before the cruise end.  In fact, I think it says that on the machine.

Anyway, we always transfer the credit and then either play it OR cash it out at the cashier.

Let us know how you make out.

That's my understanding.

As long as you book using the certificate the casino issued you, you'll get the freeplay no matter what cabin you choose. I downgrade all the time because I like location better than cabin and I never lose the stated freeplay. The Oasis class offerings lately are slim to none.

We also experienced the same experience with bookings unavailable. Last week left ship and did Next cruise book later and have 7 days to redeem to get OBC and free play. It’s been 3 days in the phone being told they don’t see my offer so I am awaiting a supervisor call. The certificate provided on board 10/1/22 has the incorrect crown and anchor numbers for both myself and husband so there unable to see the list nor assist me with a booking. Day 7 is approaching so we shall see…

Free play is downloaded under promo when you are on the machine.

that is different than a  transfer from points.   from ones account.

If you have no points you wont see the option to transfer from points.  You will only see the promo option.

My issue is about my points,  not free play.

I have called twice,  emailed twice, and documented this in my survey.   No response so far from any contact.    this is about the $200 credit.

Also, about booking the free cruise,  update.

I Did manage to book a cruise w/JR suite on Harmony out of Miami..  Definitely not the departure port I wanted by we will try to make it work.   Better than nothing.  Have 6 months to figure out how to get there.  I can't fly because of health issues, so it is a challenge.  .

Update:   Clara from RCL called and she applied the $200 to my next cruise.  took about a week but I did get the $$ I was entitled to.  All my issues have been addressed and corrected.

too bad I had to chase after them to get them, but thankful that Royal did honor their promotions.
