Live from Jewel of the Seas Transatlantic 2022

Recommended Posts

Hello on the evening of Day 3

some pics above showing the wake, sunset, Mai Tai, Frozen Mojito, cabin balcony, bedroom and bathroom and upside down lunch menu! Plus the empty pool deck despite it being a beautifully sunny and warm day.

So today I played in a blackjack tournament. - came 2nd but only the winner got paid ☹️ then the CC roll call slot tournament which cost $20 each and after 40 mins play we all walked away with $18! Way to go!

Dinner in the MDR was good again. Some pics this time of mine and two of my table mates.

Now to the casino for a game of poker - maybe!

Day 4

Tenerife. Beautiful sunny day. Have a tour booked so hopefully show some pics later.

Up late as feeling very stiff and sore today despite all my walking around the ship ( or maybe because of it!)

Made my first visit to the Windjammer this cruise and arrived just too late for breakfast and too early for lunch 🙄

Managed a mixed sweet breakfast see pic but not good.

Back a bit later after a coffee in Lattetudes. (Free speciality coffee loaded on your card daily for diamond and above which is a nice perk I think!)

Piri Piri chicken and lamb curry. Always enjoy the curries on RCI as the Indian chefs are amazing. This was no exception, delicious.

Now to get ready for my tour.

See you later and thanks for following.

Tour was pretty blah but of course Tenerife is a very popular winter holiday destination from the UK so may have been more interesting to others.
My CC friend Ann and I decided at the last stop that it must be happy hour and 3 beers and 2 cocktails for less than 20 Euros convinced us it was indeed happy hour!

Back on the ship now and enjoying the sun from my balcony.
We depart in one hour.

So glad I found your live review - we're boarding the Jewel in December and love hearing all about her!  Glad to see that you're pleased with the MDR food and service thus far, and hope we enjoy the same great experience 🙂

Have you had a chance to check out the live band entertainment? What offerings are there? Ideally, we really enjoy a band that can play pop, rock, top 40 type music for dancing.  Hope you continue to enjoy a great cruise!!!  And hope you keep sharing those great pics of food... can't wait for our turn! 🙂

Our turn for B2B in January.  🙂   Sooo happy to finally have a Radiance class at home port!

This will be our first cruise on Radiance class.  Of course since we're doing the first cruise back in the US, earliest boarding is 12 due to CG inspections.  We're out of our hotel at 11, so we'll prob just sit in the parking garage if they're not letting people in yet.

Which terminal are you at?  T5 or T1?

LOL.  Well, documents say T1, but Port Canaveral schedule says T5.  I'm inclined to believe it's T5 as once Wonder arrives, she's at T1  Harmony returns on 6 Nov to T1 to drop off guests and then leaves around 11 for FLL.   CG inspection is that morning for Jewel and boarding starts at 12.  Oh, and the fact our docs for the second leg of our b2b on Jewel (13 Nov) also states T1, but that's the date Wonder arrives in PC and is scheduled at T1 and we know Oasis class is always at T1.   I just think our docs are incorrect.  The PC port schedule has IN and HOTS until 6 Nov Wonder starting 13 Nov at T1 and Mariner and Jewel at T5 which makes sense for parking.  So, I'm going with T5, but we'll know for sure on the 6th.

Day 5 Gran Canaria

Hello from sunny Gran Canaria. Unfortunately a pretty boring day for me as not feeling good and confined to my cabin but luckily tested negative for both Covid and Flu!

I thinks it’s more likely stemming from a fall I had the day before the cruise which has probably caused the aches and pains and the fatigue just down to needing more sleep!

Anyway 24 hours quarantine so hope I feel well and refreshed for Chef’s table tomorrow night.

Will try and get some amazing shots from the balcony to stop today’s update being too boring!

Cheers

Pat
