I can’t handle interior staterooms but for those that can this may be worth looking into too. I received an Hal E-mail today for these selected cruises. Maybe worth investigating. It’s probably all you get. No have it all here!

Chief - I know you cruise a lot on HAL and we do too - in fact we are sailing Sunday on the NA and we are on a couple of the cruises on the Rotterdam in Jan/Feb listed on your attachment.  I don't understand why we never get any of these offers.

The E- mail arrived a few minutes ago. When I first started cruising with Hal and started a new Hal account I was prompted do you want future ads and promos. I said no.Years later I questioned that and talked to my PCC who changed that and I now receive offers.
PS: One more Hal cruised booked and rest on our Azamara.

Me either. I got told by a brilliant poster that it's something I'm doing.  Any reason for some to hurl insults.  I've always had at least one cruise booked with them at all times. Maybe that's the issue. After my next cruise I'll have nothing with no plans to return to hal.

We have not done a HAL cruise in over ten years. We got an offer similar to this last week and booked a b2b out of Vancouver so we dont have the air to worry about. And then just now got this new one so we are looking at the Ft Lauderdale to Vancouver to again offset the cost of air travel.  Also the December San diego is looking good for us. We have been mostly sailing NCL over the last few years with 12 cruises on them and we never get any offers from them. So the attempt to get us back apparently worked quite well lol.... And that is what I think it is...they dont need to get anyone who is currently booking with them to give a cheap cruise to.

Fantastic!  Wondering if you could list the "taxes, fees and port expenses" you had to pay.  Is this only what HAL charges on their website  ("taxes") or more. And was your pricing CND or USD?

How is the monsoon out there?  Vancouver is getting hit hard!

Could be a plan. Brilliant! It will be like watching paint dry but time to give it a whirl.

Obviously HAL has an algorithm set up in their system that triggers these offers. What I would like to know is the percentage of the pax that take these offers and upgrade. I have a pretty good idea what triggers the casino offers. These offers not so much. Now that the new casino tracking system has been installed fleetwide I am pretty sure the casino offers will not be so helter skelter.

I received the E-mail as well as my 4 Star SIL and neither one of us has spent a dime in a Hal Casino. No idea how Hal chooses who gets the offer.

We’ve been getting a lot of these offers lately. When I contact my TA, the price to go from “free” to Neptune (can’t do inside, would consider Signature, if Neptune not available) on these offers has been between $659-$1759/person. Haven’t been able to take one yet due to dates.

We’ve taken two 7 day Alaska cruises, one in 2019, and one in 2022. Both times, we’ve taken upsell offers, purchased drink packages, specialty dining, an excursion or 2. I play bingo, and we both played a little in the casino. I think our net is maybe -$100. On the second cruise, we took a spa offer for a side by side pedicure. Because of suite credits and onboard spend, we hit 2 star in 2 cruises. We also submit lots of “kudos” and name specific crew members’ names while onboard - at least 2 per day.

The system is installed. Theu are tying up sone loose ends on ships out of FLL presently. A different ship each week. My guess is they would like all the i's dotted and t's crossed by the New Year.

Our sister-in-law just took advantage of this and is working and hoping for an upgrade. Will see.

Is this desperate times for a desperate cruise line? Who knows? As an avid cruiser,  I hope not. We love cruising. As we age, we are well aware and fortunate that our cruising will not last forever. Book while you can and we are doing just that!

I think that’s the answer.  Let us know if you get the free inside offer when you have nothing booked with HAL!   Would you take a free inside or ask to upgrade?

Jealous.  I so want this.  And wish I did not know that this offer exists.

(thinking my bad for having 4 cruises booked over the next year...no need to send free offers to me? or just what is the secret formula here?)

No need to send free offers to someone who is booked!  I’m sure these offers are not sent out randomly.

We are booked as well as other family members and received the offer via E-mail. Not sure why but it is what it is.

So what's the magic formula?

So far, from what I'm reading, it is not....

casino patronage

Mariner not having booked cruises

Mariner having booked cruises

Could it be high level Mariners?

3 Stars here and no offers

Could it be folks who have high onboard spending?

That's not us

Any other thoughts on why some are lucky?

I'm pretty sure it would never happen but I wouldn't take the inside.  I've spent many cruises in an inside and I'm pretty sure I'm done with that so it.  I would likely go with a balcony so it would be anything but free.  Probably would be much cheaper than I'm paying now.

I googled the phone number and it shows as a Casino Company number in 2019 and 2020.

What this means I have no idea.  It IS a casino offer?  HAL is using them to do other promos?

I think it's a giveaway when people say they don't gamble that's its not a casino offer 😉.  From the many, many threads about this there are casino offers and there are free cruise offers.   Maybe all you have to do is walk by the casino.
