I Piddled Around (Procrastinated) and Lost - Blue Chip Offer

Like many others, I received a Blue Chip offer on Monday for a free verandah cruise. I researched the available cruises and selected my first choice. There were five ten-day cruises on the Edge. I submitted my request on Monday through the site. Getting anxious, I decided to call Blue Chip on Wednesday morning. In less than 48 hours, all of the Edge cruises, with one exception, were filled. I was able to book a cruise on the Edge, but not on my desired date. You snooze, you lose. Lesson learned: call as soon as the offer is received. Now I have to purchase a drink package. Our CC tier is Select. What is the cost for the basic drink package? Do I contact Blue Chip or Celebrity? We just completed a casino cruise on Princess and are anxious to return to Celebrity.

We booked a cruise through one of the Blue Chip offers. We wanted to add the beverage package. We called Blue Chip to see if they offered any discount (we are only Pearl tier on Blue Chip). We also called Captains Club (we are Select tier). Captains Club priced out a bit cheaper than Blue Chip so we are going to go with CC. I don’t know if the per day price varies by ship or if they are looking to sell more so they discount it more. I have religiously checked my cruise planner and the discount offered there is 9%.

Sorry to hear that and thanks for the warning!

Can anyone shed light on how Blue Chip awards free cruises?  I am Onyx which is above Pearl and Elite on Celebrity .  I’ve never received any offers from them.  Any suggestions on how to put my name in for consideration would be appreciated!

First and foremost, ALWAYS CALL the BCC, never use the online REQUEST form because many are calling in and booking the sailings before the BCC even checks the online request forms.

The BCC offers 15% off the drink package, I'm not clear if it stacks with CC discount.  Either way you need to call in, I would recommend calling BCC, ask if their 15% discount stacks with the CC and if no, ask for them to transfer you to reg X customer service so they can apply the CC discount.

It seems to be a mystery at the moment as we have many datapoints on here of those claiming they are receiving these "X needs to fill the ship" offers and never step foot in the casino or played very little.

If you had enough play on your last sailing (rumored to be an average of 150-200 tier points a night) you can call in and book a free sailing.

We are Elite Plus on Celebrity and over the last 20+ cruises, we haven’t donated as much as a penny in the casino, yet we have received four offers over the last several months. Two were e-mail and the other two were direct mail. No interest as of yet.

I have received 4 or 5 email offers for a verandah cabin during the past year.    Booked every one of them.  Agree that calling is best.   We have done a couple that we did not even select.     On the last cruise, after the first night of play (lost $200 playing Craps) I had another offer on the bed when I returned from dinner on night two.    Booked a complementary  17 Night Tahitian Exotic repo cruise from HNL TO SYD in Aqua Class!    We did have to pay $10 per night each plus taxes.  Total was around $750.00.      Booked a 12 night Edge cruise around New Zealand last fall.     The onboard future cruise manager just said he could give us another Blue Chip Cruise.   That one was $750 or so for 12 nights around New Zealand.(Verandah).     We have a Solstice Mexico Cruise (Verandah)  in March booked for $340.   Leave on Saturday on the Apex for 7 days Western Caribbean (Verandah).   $340.     They are also giving very discounted cruises if you just call Blue Chip Club based on your "play".   I am Onyx, but have no idea how I got there.

I somehow missed reading the email from 11/21with so many offers and went searching for it after reading these posts. Not sure how many of the sailings are still available. I selected 2-10 day sailings on  the Edge and 1-9 day on the Equinox. Will be on the Reflection before end of December on a Blue Chip offer. Was on the 9/17 sailing of the Equinox and tested positive on day 5 of nine day sailing so really looking forward to upcoming cruise. Sure hope that one of my selections is accepted.

When you say you selected the three cruises , did you just fill in the form and submit it?   If so that doesn’t work well.   Instead phone the number in the email and speak to a representative.  You may be on hold for a while, but it is well worth the wait.

I filled out the form on Tuesday but  I decided to call on Wednesday. The BCC rep     said the were out of the allotted rooms on the Edge but they might get more rooms released. I said I was on the website and had a room picked out  and he said let me check and see if they will release more rooms. On hold for a few minutes and he said that they would and got my 10 day edge cruise that I wanted!! I thanked him and did ask how much it would cost to upgrade to an Aqua class room and he said  I could at a rate of 60% off. I said Thank you again but will take veranda for $276 !!! Now to get flights from west coast!
And my wait time when I called was maybe 2.min

Was anyone able to book a third person in their cabin under this offer with only paying taxes and fees? I made a reservation on one of the Edge 10 day sailings for 2 people and called back to add a third and they told me it would be about $1900 to add the third.

It is my understanding as well that the offer is for up-to two guests and a third would have to pay the going rate for third guests

Wow, some of you hit the jackpot with all your cruise deals.  If I would have known this earlier on during my cruise adventures, gambling would have been my forte, as it seems silly to pay for all my cruises when I could just spend a little in the casino!

I submitted the online form this morning and have not heard back, so I will call them tomorrow morning. My first 2 choices were on the Edge but will be very happy if I can get the Equinox since we have been on her 3 or 4 times. As I mentioned in my previous response tested positive on day 5 of 9 day cruise so hopefully that will not be repeated.

Just called Blue Chip Club and the Equinox sailings we wanted were either all booked or obstructed view. Very disappointed in myself that I did not see the offer sooner. Wound up with the Reflection in March for 7 days but not as good as 9 days had we been able to get the Equinox. Wish these offers went out further then March since we have a Blur Chip sailing on Reflection before end of December.

Just crazy how they decide who to send offers to since I see in some of these posts that people who spend a lot in casino have not gotten offers and others who spend almost nothing get them.

Just to add on this, so we have been offered multiple Celebrity cruises through a company called URCOMPED because we are Signature with RCCL.  I was very surprised by the multiple sailing - and the same comment someone made earlier was on the invite - trying to fill up the ships.  There were offers for holiday sailings (both Xmas and New Years) which are never available through RCCL's Casino Royale.

URCOMPED markets rated casino players to other casinos (who are hoping they'll come and donate there ;-).  They market all cruise line offers, but you can't have an active booking or have sailed in the last year with the line (so we can't take any RCCL offers).

I just booked Reflection for Jan 20, 2024. We have 10 RCCL bookings now, - 8 of which are Casino Royale offers, so we're pretty active in the coming months and will continue to book as our offers come.  We receive an offer every cruise, and will be bookending the Jan 20th sailing with RCCL.

It's been interesting navigating the Celebrity system - having to call in to book drink and Wifi packages to get our transferred Elite benefits (our D+ transfers over as Elite). We normally get free Wifi and between the D+ drinks and the Casino don't need a package.

The BCC benefits are much more "complex" than Casino Royale, but they look very attractive.  If anyone has any suggestions or tips on how to make the most of our Casino time, it would be welcomed!

Thanks!

I wanted to expand and simplify how URComped works.  In your URComp account, you have to upload existing free room casino offers, if you don't have any, you're probably not getting a comped sailing.  With URComped offers, there are player requirements and if they're not met, URComped may end their relationship with you and it sets you back with receiving future comped offers from the cruise line.

X's Casino dept/BCC offers are not tied to any player requirements yet if you don't play, you won't receive any future offers.  With that being said, we have lots of datapoints from X cruisers stating they have received BCC comped offers despite having low-no play.  No one can yet determine what "triggers" some passengers to receive casino offers when they've never visited the casino.

Typically the comped offers on the select sailings are in the very near future and generally have cheaper fares.  The best deal you can get is if you qualify for the $10/night AquaClass upgrade, you have to call in and ask.

I just called the Blue Chip club to ask about the AquaClass upgrade and they said the price is $20.00 per night pp and not the $10.00 as indicated above. They said the $10.00 is for Concierge class not Aqua. Has anyone gotten the Aqua for $10.00?

My bad, I believe it’s $10/person.  However, prices can increase at anytime

I upgraded from obstructed veranda to Concierge and was also told $10 per person, per day. I didn’t ask about aqua though.
