We went ashore today to visit Parque Natural Faro Mazatlan.

May have to post later.   The internet has been remarkable but suddenly went to virtually nothing.

The park is about one mile from the ship.  The lighthouse at the top is 500 meters (1,600 feet) above sea level.

We wee just saying today that we would definitely do the trip again. I do have to say Cabos does remind me of the Rivera

While I don't find these Mexican itineraries as exotic as something like the French Polynesia, I certainly hope that the powers that be recognize that there is a large market of cruisers on the West Coast who would love to take a quick trip which doesn't require much air travel (so no jet lag), or for that matter, any air travel.  These are easy peasy relaxing itineraries which don't require much research or planning.

And while the decor of the Solstice is definitely dated, when we were on her in June for a B2B and then returned in September for another B2B we found the ship clean with a happy friendly crew.  Just the perfect attitude for a nice relaxing trip.

If I want a west coast get away, with, as you say, little or no air travel, I'm pretty much on Princess which, from October-April has a few ships in LA.  I too wish there were more choices.

Thank you for your reviews. Because of you I booked the Eclipse for it’s 2024 Greenland/Iceland itinerary, and now it looks like I need to add the Mexican Riviera 😂.

Me too! Thanks  to @Jim_Iaingreat travelogue this summer, I booked 2024  b2b2b IcelandGreenland and the Canada run following them. Celebrity should be giving Jim a commission. 😀

That's great to hear.

I did end up booking a cruise myself while aboard.    Once they released the European Sailings I booked the Lisbon to Rio and Buenos Aires in November 2024.   We had originally had this one booked pre-Covid but was cancelled.

I'm sure you will love the Greenland/Iceland cruise.   It's really an incredible journey.

That is the perfect B2B cruise.    I hope they get the infrastructure issue solved in Reykjavik.   Because of the lack of buses and taxi's  most all of the B2B didn't even get off the ship there.  Would really have loved to have seen the beautiful city.

In 2024, the Iceland to Boston leg will begin with an overnight in Reykjavik.

Wowza that's pretty rugged!

It's the highlight of driving the Chain of Craters Road. You're literally at the southernmost end of the Big Island. You park your car, and you walk through the volcanic rock right up to the very edge - the end of the island, and you look over the wall, and there's the ach. One of my top five attractions in all of Hawaii!

Our final port.   Puerto Vallarta

We got up and had our regular continental breakfast in Michael’s Club.

We decided to walk from the ship to Los Muertos   Pier.  The pier is about 4.5 miles away.
Most of the walk was along Puerto Vallarta Tepic , the  major road through the city.

Most of the way is very boating with resort after resort blocking any view of the ocean.  Lots of little things caught my eye.

I’m usually playing catch up as I dwaddle along the way shooting pictures.
