Thank you for posting this!! I was considering the Prima for an upcoming cruise but didn't look at the deck plans closely enough to see there's no Entourage. Back to looking at Breakaway Plus itineraries, lol! Prima will be off our family's list for a few more years.

There is no lounge proper. They use part of the Splash Academy for gaming. And they take over other venues like Syds and Improve for Entourage events.

Hey Bird, loving your review so far!  What is the cost of the Thermal Suite pass for the week.  I am thinking of upgrading to a Spa Balcony and want to compare. Are men and women able to use the same area?

I think it was $339 for 7-days. I don’t know if they are selling any day passes, but those go for $99 if the spa is not full on a slow port day.

Nice to "sea" that you're onboard again!

I'll be curious to see what (if any) subtle changes have been made since the NYC cruise in October.

Enjoy!

Hey @PistolPete13

There are a few changes for the worse. Like closing the buffet after dinner and a not leaving it open until 11:30. If I have the munchies, I want to grab some nachos at the buffet and not sit down to dinner at The Local which is soooooo tiny.

This cruise, the ship is decorated for Christmas, so it is very festive.

Hello Bird, happy to see you are on Prima this week. Hope you have a great trip.

Looks like they fixed the pizza. When I sailed on Prima in October, the crust was a little too thick.

Did you happen to notice if any of the pools in the thermal suite have bubbles? The crew member who gave us a tour of the area told us that those pools aren't supposed to have bubbles, but I heard through the grapevine that they might have the bubbles working some time while the ship is in Miami.

@BarnCat1 the entire facility is coed. The only unisex space are the locker rooms (which are very tiny).

@Cruising Lynne no bubbles. But, because of a very light waves, they have closed the larger pool today. You can see that there are jet stations like other thermal suites on big ships…. But there are no buttons to turn them on. The plumbing is there if they want to add jets in the future.

I verified that the Spa will be selling Day Passes this week on port days for $99.

Bird, thanks for posting this. A lot of good information, as well as photos! You are really adding to my excitement for my Prima February cruise. I saw that the Donna Summer show is on both sea days. QUESTION: Do you suppose I can figure that for my cruise as well? Trying to plan my dinner reservations. Thanks and keep on enjoying!

No bubbles 😞

Buffet dinner had thin pizza. Lunch was still thick.

And they have discontinued the late buffet. So it closes at 9:30 after which you need to go to The Local (until 3:30 am).

Oh no. I think I would miss late night buffet, especially since I like to have early dinner.

You can assume that. Close to your cruise date, you’ll know better.

We just booked early dinners assuming that we would catch the late shows.

Syd Norman’s is the second entertainment venue. Syd’s hosts game shows, live music and late night dancing. It’s another very small venue, and the Cruise Director has been admonishing passengers that if they really want to get into the show, they need to line up an hour early.

Yes, we are booking 6-6:30. So no matter what night, we will be able to catch her later show. Thanks, Bird.

Thanks, Bird, for another live review.  I’m counting down the days until my Encore cruise on the 23rd!  This will help me pass the time.

Here’s a live post from the Encore in April. Your voyage will be magical covering both Christmas and New Year.

Hasuki is the Prima’s Japanese Steakhouse where you get up close and personal with your food as it is being prepared. Great food and entertainment all in one.
