Thank you so much for those festive impressions 🎄 we will fly to Miami on Monday (if it’s hopefully working out…), but I’ve heard that the situation at Frankfurt airport is pretty chaotic. If my luggage doesn’t make it to Miami, is there a chance to buy items like pants or a dress or shirts onboard? I find the choices onboard are pretty limited. I would make sure your hand luggage has a change or two of clothing just in case, a skirt or dress, some extra shirts. Hope it turns out alright, travel by air right now can be such a pain. By the way, @cwn, I like the bracelet!
wcsdkqh Posted December 17, 2022 #152 Share Posted December 17, 2022 Wishing your luggage best of luck. I am still waiting for one of three suitcases after a month following early November Mediterranean Cruise. Based on AirTag, it is sitting in Paris CDG following a not-so-great handoff between Air France and Delta. The only plus is the issue happened post cruise and not pre. Air France and CDG a deadly combination. Never again.
cwn Posted December 17, 2022 Author #153 Share Posted December 17, 2022 Dec 16 is Harvest Caye, Belize. Because I know it will hot and humid we picked a low key hour long tour in the Black Swan electric boat, a small covered boat that takes out around the island looking for Mantees. We see only one head but have good run punch and a nice little ride. This is NCLs private island and it is really nicely done. They have poured a ton of money in this daytime resort and big bucks in the water sports equipment!! There is everything to do… fishing, snorkeling, river rubbing, kayaking, pedal boarding, wave running and several virtual activities. They have a nice beach area also. The pier is really long , but they have electric carts thakgoodness!

vegasdriven Posted December 17, 2022 #155 Share Posted December 17, 2022 Re Chartreuse, are you still just going at 6:30 or do you have a reservation? We loved it on Voyager, and hope to get more than one night during the 16 nights of the holiday cruise.

Last cruise we ask at the door at 6:30 for an extra night, we got it and walked in. we are going when they open and are being seated very time. Calling the reservation desk resulted in no extra times.

I had change our PacificRim reservation earlier in the day. The speciality restaurants can’t handle food allergies very well. We like Chartreuse and Sette Mari better than the others. Please explain as to how and why they can't handle allergies. We will be on in February.
cwn Posted December 18, 2022 Author #162 Share Posted December 18, 2022 They can handle allergies in the Compass Rose. Handled mine for 200+ days . The problem was this was the first time on a ship with Pacific Rim and everything in the Kitchen is geared to the Asian seasoning. I am very allergic to any and all soy products. They were afraid of cross contamination and it took a long time to fix food separate for me, probably my fault since on the Navigator and the Mariner they fixed my favorite tempura, veggie fried rice and spring rolls In Compass Rose any time asked. Dick likes Asian food but was not too impressed with Pacific Rim. So it is no big deal to him . This trip we have eaten at Chartreuse, Sette Mari and the Pool Grill with two times at Prime 7, room service once and one time in Compass Rose, our least favorite on this ship. Usually they tell me what is safe for me at each meal. And with notice will fix any thing

flossie009 Posted December 18, 2022 #164 Share Posted December 18, 2022 The Seven Seas Society party was well attended last night. On this short 7-day segment the ship is sailing close to capacity but with just over 300 guests who are new to Regent. One of the production cast singers, Anne Van Der Zee, provided the entertainment and ended with “The Prayer”; dueting with the CD, David Nevin. Both are fabulous singers. We are blessed with an excellent entertainment team at present on Splendor. Hopefully a duo will be joining the ship on December 20th to further expand the range of offerings during the Holiday cruise. As well as some guests being presented with their next level pins, it was good to see three crew members each receive 20-year long service awards.

cwn Posted December 19, 2022 Author #167 Share Posted December 19, 2022 (edited) The display was half set up when we returned from sone time ashore in Cozumel about 2pm yesterday. Haven’t been back down to 4 yet. Thanks, Fossie for posting the finished project picture, mine didn’t look as nice. It is the dreaded packing day, but fortunately we get to unpack in the Navigator on the 22nd for two more weeks. cwn Posted December 19, 2022 Author #168 Share Posted December 19, 2022 Well I am now packed and we have early reservations in Chartreuse. I made them months ago for 6:30 but when they changed the opening times to 6 they moved ours to 6 so we will miss the Krew Kappers which is always good. I made them change the Prime 7 (same deal) so we could attend the Loyalty cocktail party, but didn’t realize at the time we had the same problem with this reservation. To catch up on the last three days, we were in Costa Maya Mexico on Dec 17. Most of the tours were 3 man ones so we passed. It was a beautiful day but very humid. The pier was long and didn’t look like there was much at the other end so we made it a ship day. And ended that with our Prime 7 dinner. It was a stellar meal and service was great. Much better than the last cruise. Yesterday was Cozumel. We have been there many times diving and more recently taking the grandkids on cruises out of Galveston. In fact my Dad use to go fishing there in the late ‘50 and’60s before there was really anything there! We docked right in town near the ferry dock which is nice if you want to explore on your own. We just took the bike taxi on the pier to the Welcome area and walked around a bit. The NCL Pearl was beside us and I think most of the crew and passengers were watching the game on a TV at the bar in the shopping area. I contributed to the economy getting some bead ornaments for our soon to be Christmas tree and we had a nice late lunch ashore. Last night we ate at the pool grill. We went at 6:30, about 25 people came in while we ate. We had the best pork ribs I have ever had. I think they are making a big mistake doing away with evening service. I don’t see how they need 8 suites for s staff of two cooks. A bartender, and a head waiter and an assistant and the man serving ice cream! We begged for casual out door service on the 2018 WC. Today I went to crafts this morning and we made a Morse code bracelet spelling out bon voyage. Cute…I think anyway. Dick went to Trivia this afternoon and placed 3rd while I packed! He got a visor for his efforts. I will post sone pictures after dinner but it is time to eat again!!!
