I am in a cove balcony: description states:  Structural pillar on side of balcony.  Would that be a deal breaker for You.  Has anyone had a cove balcony with a structural pillar on it?

This is the new sun?

Thanks to all

Cove Balconies are new (to Princess) with Sun Princess so no one has yet to be in one on a Princess ship.

Not sure what the pillar is.  We have been in cove balconies with CCL.  We wanted to try them, but prefer a higher deck.  It has the metal structure around the opening, so of course the opening is not as large as a regular balcony.

Do all of the coves state that? Or,

just one you’re looking at?
I’d look at CCL coves to get an idea and maybe P & O? I believe they have some also.

One thing we did like, was watching the flying fish.  I would not want to be there in a big storm, as you’re too close to the water.  But, otherwise, it is fine.

Here’s a video of CCL Mardi Gras, may be similar. IDK

They are not new to Princess.

All the old Sun class Princess ships had them (Sun, Sea, Dawn and Ocean). Do a picture search and you will clearly see them on these older ships!

Was considering booking one of these on Sun but went with regular balcony cabins for now. The cove ones do look unique in being closer to the water, wonder if the lifeboats above would make noise when swinging around (and of course would hear when they are being used for tendering and safety drills). On Sun these cabins are on deck 6 so mid or midaft would be best so not underneath the theater on deck 7 forward.

Illusions Room…back to the future!

A Time Machine!

Ha!  On the Illusions Room, we have a multi-sensory, interactive and immersive Illusions Museum in London (called Twist) but that would need a ton of space and once you've been there once....but they have to do something special to make it more engaging than just a set of magic tricks.

Well, the 360 was already in a Portugal restaurant and designed by a Portuguese man.  That they took and implemented it into a ship.  So, that’s possible they may take the idea of the Twist.

Once you’ve been to 360, it will be similar the next visit.  I asked about that, and they said it is so incredibly expensive, they would not be able to change it.  Only the menu.

My idea, was to adapt 360 to different areas of the world that you are sailing.  They said, too expensive.

Maybe a combination Illusion Room similar to the “Twist” and a 360 experience?

Illusion room? Maybe a high end high rollers gambling room. The illusion is having your money disappear right before your very eyes? 🤪

The S on the door....sorry for your loss😝

True!  But you don’t need an Illusion room for that.  Just go to the casino. 😂

My first reaction was "ugh I've always loved that Princess didn't waste prime pool & lounger space on this type of stuff" but some of the stuff looks like it could be fun.  The glider and infinite horizon especially.

Sorry if this has been addressed but is this in addition to, or in place of the traditional basketball/pickleball courts?

I am 74, but admit that I would try some of these new fun spaces.  However, my fear is that it will attract a lot of families which would mean more children on the ship.
