KyleClark Posted December 22, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 22, 2022 How does that happen? 4th day in a row. Yes, these are port days, but really?
Rare Oceansaway17 Posted December 22, 2022 #2 Share Posted December 22, 2022 i guess they could blame it on supply chain issues or the fact that folks are stealing. I actually bring my own bright orange and pink towel from home.
don't-use-real-name Posted December 22, 2022 #3 Share Posted December 22, 2022 OP - you did not note the cruise you are on and the weather - maybe perchance the towels where used as blankets to ward off a chilling breeze ? One of those port calls - was it at a Private Island (Cay) ? Ooops we left too many towels back there. Could be as simple as the laundry facility overloaded - mechanical function ? The cruise line not maintaining security on the return of used towels ? Stealing towels robes and not charging the guests for this ? Did you go to Guest Services and make an inquiry - talk to the Hotel Manager ?

Rare Sailing12Away Posted December 22, 2022 #5 Share Posted December 22, 2022 Blame your fellow passengers. One to hog their chair, one to dry off, one to dry their hair, one to cover their legs when they're getting too much sun, another one when they go back in the pool and get wet again because they bunched the first one up so it never dried out.... 2

Any number of reasons. People not turning them back in, people taking them back to their cabin, people using them to dry off one time and turning them in for a new towel with them for example. Besides, there are towel in the cabins sufficient for each passenger.
Rare YVRteacher Posted December 23, 2022 #7 Share Posted December 23, 2022 Speculating that there could be something wrong in the laundry room. Those massive washing machines for the towels need a lot of maintenance.
Rare BirdTravels Posted December 23, 2022 #8 Share Posted December 23, 2022 Could be like us who grab 6-8 towels on the embarkation day for all of our port calls. So,,, we don’t have problems getting towels later.

Not on the Encore this past November. No pool towels in rooms. 4 hours ago, YVRteacher said: Speculating that there could be something wrong in the laundry room. This would be my guess for the reason. All the other comments essentially balming passengers are not unique to any specific cruise, the lines know people use multiple towels each day and they typiclly have enough so that they don't run out. They have not done this since the post-pandemic restart (and maybe before that).
Yesimapirate Posted December 23, 2022 #11 Share Posted December 23, 2022 I don't think they feel the need to justify it. Far too often guests (not just of cruises) feel they're entitled to a detailed justification of everything they aren't happy with. Likely, you'll get an apology and that's it. While knowing the details may make you feel better, it does nothing to change the situation.
