It was in our case. They told our TA it had to be a new booking rather than a refare of an existing booking. That was pretty much the bottom line. So, if you don't mind cancelling and then rebooking an existing cruise, seems doable as @ChangeOrdermentioned earlier.

For rebooking you have to pay the present price which for me is not worth it. Princess always gives active ^ reiired the same benefits.

Never received a letter regarding this promo and my husband is a veteran.

If he is getting the Military benefit now, he should have gotten a notification of this new benefit.  If y0ou are going to do a new cruise, I would defiantly ask for it.  That was the main reason we booked our cruise now instead of later.  If we can get a better deal later, we will re-fare it.

I booked within the limits of the BSE sale which I was told this promotion applied and yet did not get the premium package.    If my travel agent cannot get it added and I don't expect it then I will take the documentation to the ship and see what can be arranged.   Expecting nothing at the moment but I won't give up.

He's been getting the Military benefit for years so don't know why.  Inquired about it as we had a casino rate to use and was told it could not be combined with the casino rate.  Very confusing as to all the different ways this can be applied and how many ways it can't.

We booked a cruise for Thanksgiving on the Discovery today and our CVP was able to apply the promotion to our reservation. My husband qualifies for the veterans benefit so we are both getting the premier package for the price of the plus package and he also gets the $100 OBC for a 7 day cruise.

The cruise we booked isn’t one of the cruises listed in post #137.

@PescadoAmarillo Thank you so much for your original post!!! My husband is a veteran and as a result of you posting this offer we were able to have it applied to a cruise we booked today. We never would have known about this benefit if you hadn’t posted it so just wanted to let you know how much we appreciated you posting this on the boards. Especially since it seems Princess is keeping this top secret and not posting it on their website.

Glad to hear your CVP got it applied to your Discovery booking. Is a CVP a Princess employee?

The one thing I am trying to find information on is the reserved theatre seating perk and how that works.

A section of the Theater will be set aside for those eligible to sit there with the Premier package. The benefit is to sit in that section, not for specific seats.

The section will not be able to hold all those eligible to sit there, so it will be first come, first seated.

And if any seats are not yet taken, x minutes before the show they will be opened to everyone.

Of course just like Princess has its own ideas about the best cabin locations and many passengers do not agree, those eligible for this seating area may prefer to sit in another area they like better.

The benefit for us would be, that we would not have to wait in line 30 - 45 minutes before the show starts to get the seats we want.  As you stated it all will depend on where Princess decides to where the section will be located.

All this promotion is an upgrade from the Princess Plus to the Princess Primium Package.  I do not why Princess made this so confusing.  There is no end date, so is this going to be a permanent benefit??? 🤔

I have a friend that just booked a cruise and he is listed on Princess as getting the Veteran OBC.  I told him about the promo and his TA (also my TA) contacted Princess and they told her there was no such promo.  My husband is also a Veteran and I did a mock booking on several cruises and non of them had this promo applied.

Did your husband book it as a Premium Plus package, also is he getting the Military Benefit now??  It looks like this is just an upgrade to the Premium package for the people who are now getting the Military Benefit.

Since the designated area will not be large enough to hold all those eligible who might show up, you may still need to get there early to be sure of seats being available.

Yes, it was booked with Plus Package and he is currently receiving the Military OBC.  Once booked, it does not show the upgrade to Premium.  It is on a courtesy hold, so will let it expire in a few days.

Just a matter of clarification, there is a Plus package and a Premier package. There is no such thing as a Premium package. If you booked a Plus package and you are seeing premium items (desserts, exercise, etc.), those are now included in the Plus package and not an upgrade.

You are correct.  Looks like spell-check is at it again 🙂.

We booked and paid for the Plus package but our confirmation has the following confirmation:

This promotion includes Princess Premier; Gsts 1&2 will receive the following: *PREMIER BEVERAGE PACKAGE with SERVICE CHARGE included for guests 21 years old or older. Those under 21 will receive the Premier Coffee & Soda Package. *WI-FI is unlimited for guest 1 & 2 in the cabin, four devices per guest. *CREW APPRECIATION is pre-paid by Princess Cruises for guest 1 & 2 in the cabin *PREMIUM DESSERTS*JUICE BAR*FITNESS CLASSES (Unlimited for duration of voyage) *SPECIALTY DINING (2 Nights) *PREMIER PHOTO PKG *PRINCESS PRIZES *FREE MEDALLION SHIPPING *MEDALLION ACCESSORY *RESERVED THEATER SEATING

We normally pay for the Plus package but are happy to try the Premier package since it didn’t cost anything additional. I’m most interested in the 2 nights of specialty dining, reserved theater seating, and the photo package. Not at all interested in the premium desserts, fitness classes or Princess prizes.

I'm so glad you got this. I am still being told by Princess that this doesn't exist.

FWIW on the 14-day July 2024 Sky cruise we just booked through our TA where we did not get the military Premium upgrade, even though our TA tried her hardest, we did however get a $309 per person reduction in our cruise fare for being Platinum, where as before we would only get the $100 discount per person. So thank you Princess. No hard feelings for having a misstep with this temporary or permanent military perk. 😁

I don’t understand why some at Princess know how to apply this to a cruise and some don’t. It makes no sense. Are you contacting Customer Service or are you working with a Vacation Planner? Mine was done through a Vacation Planner. At first he wasn’t able to get the promotion to come up for the reservation but he worked on it for a couple days behind the scenes and was eventually able to get it applied. I also have a TA that I will use depending on the cruise and I doubt that they would have been successful in getting this for our booking. I think the only reason it happened for us is because we used our Vacation Planner this time. If you haven’t tried to book your cruise through a Vacation Planner I’d suggest trying that route instead of Customer Service.

I am almost sorry to have started this topic.    It does appear that the upgrade is limited to only certain cruises, although the list seems to be in question.

The only issue we have with using a Princess CVP is they absolutely get no credit for the booking if the guest subsequently transfers the booking to a TA to reap those rewards. We just didn’t think that was fair, and at the same time, we don’t want to miss out on our 8% fare discount by not transferring it to our TA. But, that’s just us.
