are ships still sailing to Bar Harbor?

looking at a cruise on Royal to New England and Canada and see Bar Harbor on the itinerary.

 

I thought I read that no ships with more than 1000 pax could stop there. Has that changed?

It is the off season for Bar Harbor so hard to know.  However,  there also was a lawsuit recently filed regarding the limit which could change things.

We have a celebrity New England/Canada cruise this September and Bar Harbor is a good to go.   According to news article the law takes effect 2024.  It is in litigation currently so who knows.

We're supposed to go there twice on Jewel this fall.  We really enjoyed the one time we have been there and hope to go again.  Something will be decided at some point, but I don't get the issue that caused this.  Businesses capitalized on having the cruisers there.  There's little increased traffic or parking issues with cruisers and the time we were there, nothing was really crowded and no one was causing any problems.

Have two NE cruises booked this year and Bar Harbor is still a go. 2024 schedules do NOT show Bar Harbor.

We'll also still be porting at Bar Harbor for our Oct 2023 RCI Liberty cruise. Agree this change can be seen on the RCI schedule for Oct 2024...substituting Sydney instead.
