Cheers reconciliation question

We have two cruises this year and decided to purchase the cheers package for our first one primarily because we want to enjoy the trip and not be worrying about how many drinks we’ve had or what the bill is at the end of the trip. We aren’t big drinkers but do drink pop, water specialty coffees etc. so we figured we would try it out. Question is can we still get a itemized bill that shows what we drank in order to see if it was worth it before our second cruise.

Yes - it is on your Hub App.  On the last day of our cruise in October hubby and I sat with our coffees in the morning on the deck and did an add up of the value of each drink per day - everything that was covered by Cheers - to see if it was worth it, as we also had free drinks in the Casino while playing...

We discovered that even when backing out what would have been covered in the Casino instead of Cheers it was still worthwhile for us - especially with the coffees, waters, energy drinks that had along the way.

Before debarking, the hub app will let you email yourself a copy of all your charges so you would be able to work out those details of cost versus benefits. Guest service will print it out anytime for you too.

I would not suggest doing that on debark morning though…lol!

just email yourself the pdf.

This is interesting, please come back and report if it works out to be a good deal.  I have only every gotten cheers once, and only because we got it at a special extremely reduced rate.   I have often said I would have a hard time justifying the cost otherwise, and that is drinking alcohol too!  I just wouldn't drink enough everyday of everything to warrant the cost by the end.

Pretty  much anything you want. Unlimited non-alcohol drinks and no more than 15 alcohol drinks.

I don't drink but love having it (Thanks casino) because don't have to think about costs or anything for sodas, smoothies, coffee or just get whatever I want, when I want.

To clarify - we ran the numbers on our last sea day/ final full day - not the debark morning.

And as noted - yes the hub list shows $0 but you can click into the details to confirm the actual cost per drink to do the proper math.

For us it was to assess if we would have been better off just to pay for some and then get the free ones in the casino (as per our offer) and we are nerdy spreadsheet loving people lol.

Others have posted the link to the calculator for the drink package and it’s a fair tool.

Cheers also saves us from lugging on cans of pop or looking at the price of one wine vs another. It adds back in  a layer of ease and takes away the worry of over spending.  It’s a vacation and I want to relax not think about the cost of each item each day.

If you try the Drink calculator posted above, you enter the number of different types of drinks you may want and tells you if you would save or not.  The numbers are current and accurate

Hi

If you really "aren't big drinkers", then it is unlikely that the drink package with save you anything in the long run. Most people who do like drinking (sometimes a lot), find the package controls their spending. Also, I see some who feel this allows them to buy "something different", and if they don't like it they don't feel bad not finishing it.

Why don't you try the other way from your plan. Count what you spend on your first cruise, and then you can decide for your second cruise.

As you said, we also aren't big drinkers, but do have drinks every day, an occasional bottle of wine, but have never come close to spending the daily cost of the drinks package for any cruise line. Most of the others try to have the package blended into the cruise cost to make passengers feel it is included. The bottom line is that the cruise lines make most of their money in the casinos and with alcohol sales. They are doing very well with their drink packages.

have a great cruise
