Parking at the Boston Cruise Terminal

We reserved the C1 with parkwhiz for our Zaandam 25 night cruise this past august  but when we got there it was gated close. We cancelled a few minutes before our scheduled arrival time to get a full refund. Then drove across the street to the covered abm marine garage/ edic. Went into the office and asked about monthly parking ($415). Took a ticket from the machine but when it is time to pay at the end of the cruise you need to go into the office.

The C1 parking lot website shows rates on its homepage as per day $25, 7 day $175, 14 day $200. They also have a link at the top of the page to apply for monthly parking. They use Parkwhiz for their online reservation link from their homepage so not sure what happened in your case as the lot and garage are both run by ABM Parking.

Not sure if it's the same lot, but IIRC there have been a number of discussions here on CC about this very lot. I believe we're referring to the C1 and C2 lots right next to the cruise pier, and next to the Boston police harbor patrol office, easily found on Google Maps/Street View, on Black Falcon Ave immediately west of the terminal building.  I recollect a number of users/cruisers saying that they used the C1 lot recently with no problems, but upon arrival had to call the phone number on the sign, to have the attendant walk over from the C2 lot right next door to let them in.  I too would very much want to use the covered garage you mention, but a number of folks here on CC keep saying that cruise ship parking is very much discouraged at that lot. When you visited their office, did you mention that you were getting on a cruise ship, and if so, what was their reaction?  Thanks for info....

I told them I was going on a cruise. They said I needed to park on the 4th floor.

Thanks very much for that bit of info (and welcome to Cruise Critic, by the way ;o)  I would much rather park in a nice covered garage than in an open lot, and for us, that covered garage is still a very easy walk back to the ship, even schlepping a bunch of luggage. How full was the 4th floor? I'd hate to try and park there only to find it was full up. It was my understanding that this lot is usually used by local employees, so I would expect it would be pretty empty when we arrive there on a Sunday in mid-July.

We were there at 10am after dropping off the bags. It was empty on the Saturday we arrived.  I would give them a call to make sure they still plan to allow this for your dates. If you are going to Greenland and Iceland have a great time.  It was amazing.

Thanks very much, sounds like our arrival around 9AM on a Sunday would also be easy. I'll definitely be contacting them ahead of time.  Greenland and Iceland would be right up there as a top bucket list trip for sure, but this trip is a Canada/New England on Princess, as we're limited to short-duration trips for now. This will be our first ever sailing out of Boston, though we've through there many times on our way to the Cape.

Bumping this thread to see if their is anymore updated parking. I tried doing a mock booking on 'Cruise Ship Parking Lot C" as seen on google maps. It takes you to this web site   https://www.parkwithabm.com/c1-parking-lot?utm_source=gmb&utm_medium=5terminalstreet&utm_campaign=google

When you click on reservations it takes you to ParkWiz and that parking lot isn't even on their site

I am looking for a reasonable rate for parking for a cruise out of Boston.  I have read that there is a 20% discount if on a cruise.  I can’t find that.    I have tried others and as post 33 wrote that parking at lot C doesn’t pop up

The only price I come up with is $330 for a 11 day cruise.

Thanks for any help/suggestions.

Happy cruising.  🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

In the other thread on Boston parking, someone just posted their experience with trying to book Lot C1. Seems pretty confusing. We will need parking for our July trip as well, and our current plan is to show up at C1 around 8AM without a reservation, then have the indoor ABM Marine Park Garage a block away as a fall back.

@lx200gps after your cruise, would you please let us know if you were able to use  the C1 lot?  I’m cruising in August and would really like to use that lot.

Thanks!

Welcome to Cruise Critic ;o) I will attempt to remember to do so. FWIW, Boston is a "seasonal" cruise port, so the season is only just starting off for 2024 so there wouldn't have been much discussion recently on this subject. I am quite sure there will be a lot of posts and threads here in this forum over the next few weeks and months about the parking situation and I will be following them closely myself.

While I still plan to use either the C1 lot or the covered garage, my third fallback is the "official" Boston Cruise Port parking lot at 93 Fargo Street. Unfortunately the Cruise Port website clearly states "Parking arrangements must be made online prior to arrival" and I'm not a fan of booking online (what if plans change?). Interestingly, when I select the online booking, it actually shows our July 14 sailing on the Emerald Princess and shows a rate of $US210 for the cruise.

Hi, I am sailing out of Boston on RCCL's Jewel of the Seas on September 7th. It is a 15 night cruise. There doesn't seem to be any good park and stay options. My friend and I have a hotel booked just outside of Boston. We plan to drive in the next morning, which is a Saturday. When I go on the official cruise port parking site, I see my cruise listed. When I select my cruise, the price for parking is $450! 😱  😱 Holy cow that is a lot of money. Surely there must be other parking options that are more affordable?

Based on a search I just did on the Park Whiz app for the Flynn Cruiseport terminal in Boston from Sept 7 at 11am until Sept 22 at 9am it shows parking available for $200 at the lot at 1 Black Falcon Ave. That lot is located just in front of where the ship will be docked and is a 4 minute walk to the terminal. I have used it before and it's a very convenient location.

The description on Parkwhiz for that lot says "This location is only used for Cruise Ships that come in on Friday.". I opened a ticket with Parkwhiz to confirm, and they said to call the operator at  (617) 482-2487, which I did, and they confirmed that they only have a person there on Friday, and there is no automated entry into the lot. So even though Parkwhiz will let you book it for Saturday Sep 7, it would seem you can't get in.

For a 15 day cruise, $450 is right on. For our 7 dayer in July I was quoted $210, so the rate is $30/day. Look on the bright side, at least it's not Manhattan at $45/day ;o(

Here is the rate schedule for the ABM garage one block north of the cruise terminal. Price is the same $30/day

That is absolutely insane. One site quotes $200 for a 14 night cruise. I will make friends with someone living nearby before I pay $450 to park my car

The C1 lot is open and bookable for $200 during this time frame, and it is an attended lot as I have parked there for HAL cruises that leave on Saturdays from the port. If there are openings in that lot on a Saturday that are being offered for booking now then there will be someone there.

Where is the link to book it for $200 during this time frame? I can find just about anything on the internet but how to book 14 nights in September for $200 in Boston.

Here is the link with your info inserted as Sept 7 11am to Sept 22 11am, which you can adjust if needed. There is also a $12 service fee added for a total of $212.

Wow! Thank you for the link!! But it says only for ships leaving on Friday. If I am understanding it correctly, someone in an above post said they called and received confirmation that it is only for parking on Fridays. That on other days there is no one there. But you parked there last year for your HAL cruise on a day other than Friday and you able to park there with no problems?

Yes if you book it they will send you a confirmation of the booking, and you can cancel anytime. I remember not being sure myself when I first booked this lot because of what is said about Fridays but I think that is only effective in mid summer when the lot is filled with pax from the NCL ship that leaves on Friday nights to Bermuda. If you throw in other dates earlier during the summer for longer cruises the lot is shown as not available because it is already totally sold out. Here there are still openings.
