Vitamin_Sea Posted January 22, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2023 ......and I cruise free. I recently did a test where i only spend $20 a day in the 8 cent slots to see what CCL does. Would last sometimes over an hour. Anyway, I been getting free cruises. Three so far and i always check my offers everyday for more. Why would they give me free cruises for such a low investment? PS ... of course i had to pay port/tax
Nachosdelux Posted January 22, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2023 because they hope you will give them enough revenue to offset their minimal cost for the "free" cruise
Rare EngIceDave Posted January 22, 2023 #3 Share Posted January 22, 2023 Casinos are ALL ABOUT TIME Major calculus is time....Time x avg wager x house edge (what you play) x hands (plays) per hour It's called ADT or Average Daily Theoretical. All casinos use this is similar formulas. You can walk into any casino, drop $1000 on a single roulette spin, lose and no one cares.....no one will blink Lose $1000 over a few hours, now you're known, because you go up, down, up, down and in the end, that thousand dollars was actually a "coin in" of maybe $5,000 TIME is your friend in a casino. You did it right. Better to play down and play longer that up and lose fast, if comps are your goal.

mz-s Posted January 22, 2023 #5 Share Posted January 22, 2023 It's certainly true that you don't have to give away the farm to get free cruise offers from Carnival's casino.

The casino marketing dept buys data from many places and targets people who meet their demographics..

Ilovesailaway Posted January 22, 2023 #9 Share Posted January 22, 2023 Well my interest is certainly peaked. I am not a casino person so forgive my ignorance but how does one get started on such a strategy? Do you have to register with the casino so they can track your play?
Rare jam19872016 Posted January 22, 2023 #10 Share Posted January 22, 2023 Book them now, right now your considered a potential new heavy hitter and the casino offers will roll your way to entice you. Once you get a bit more established your offers will be infrequent and at that level probably cut off except maybe $20 off regular rate and some light obc. Once you quit booking marketing will occasionally throw one your way again to entice you again. Good luck, spend what your comfortable with and remember the house always wins although comped cruises lower the house edge - especially if your a solo cruiser 😁.

Of course it does. It has everything to do with luring you back to take more money. They don’t comp you as a “gift” it’s an enticement. Give you more to make you play more. If I understand the casinos (both land and ship based) you use your ship card (Sail & Sign card) at each machine. This credits each of your plays to you. Land based casinos have a similar system if you first register and acquire their card, with that particular casino. Then you will receive offers to come and play!

Tiger0613 Posted January 22, 2023 #20 Share Posted January 22, 2023 (edited) The lowest minimum bet I have seen on penny slots since 2016 is $0.20. The minimum bet is actually one cent per line. The lowest minimum bet I saw on the Valor in late November 2022 was $0.30. There was no penny slot machine that allowed you to play just one line. The only one line machines cost at least $0.25(likely more than that). There were no $0.08 machines.
