And finally, the Carnival Freedom. Texas Teach in one of his Mardi Gras reviews, referred to her as Ol’ Stubby, so I’ll give him the credit. I think that it’s the perfect nickname for her now. She will be getting a new Whale Tail in October…..

And it was said entirely with love! All the love a stub can handle!

Stoked the review is off and running! Been super excited about this!!!

Around 1:30 Patti came to collect me at the Red Frog Rum Bar and we headed down to our cabin. All of our luggage was waiting outside of our door. We are staying in cabin # 7439…..

IMG_7797-X2.jpg

Cabin # 7439 is an L shaped cabin with a bowling alley balcony located just in front of the aft wrap on the starboard side. Here is the view from the cabin door…..

Here are a couple of cabin views……

We unpacked our bags and hung out in our cabin until sail away at 3:30. Being that our cabin was on the starboard side, we could enjoy the sail away from our balcony. Since the Freedom was docked at the terminal bow in, she would have to back out and then spin around to head out to sea…..

As we continued to spin around, our aft end got pretty close to the Norwegian Escape. Their passengers were keeping an eye on us…..

Goodbye Port Canaveral…..

IMG_7896-X2.jpg

The Pilot Boat pulls up, grabs the Pilot, and off they go…..

IMG_7895-X2.jpg

IMG_7900-X2.jpg

IMG_7909-X2.jpg

A short time later we get the first sunset of the cruise…..

IMG_7915-X2.jpg

IMG_7922-X2.jpg

Patti spots a speck on the horizon and when she zooms in on it, discovers that it’s the Mardi Gras, following us out to sea…..

IMG_7919-X2.jpg

We decide to have a drink at the Alchemy Bar before dinner, but when we get there, it is hopelessly crowded. We head up to the Centuries Bar (Casino Bar), where we grab a couple of seats. I still can’t figure out what this thing is…..

IMG_7931-X2.jpg

Patti’s got her Mocha Chocolate Getaway……

IMG_7924-X2.jpg

Here are some of the Centuries Bar menus…..

Afterwards, Patti decided to go to the first bingo session of the cruise, and then maybe stay for the Welcome Aboard show. I was going to the 8:30 PG comedy show. Let’s meet the comedians for this cruise…..

I arrive for the show about a half hour early and grab a seat in the back at the bar. I get my standard Punchliner drink…..

IMG_7934-X2.jpg

IMG_7935-X2.jpg

Marcela, the Comedy Host, gets the show started…..

IMG_7937-X2.jpg

IMG_7943-X2.jpg

This show features Jersey, and the audience immediately gets into it…..

He was very funny even though it was a PG show. I can’t wait to see his 18+ show! I made my way to the Lobby bar for a couple of drinks before calling it a night. When I got back to the cabin Patti was already there. No luck at bingo tonight.

Coming up next: It’s GREAT to be back at sea day!!

Hey, a campground! I think I need to haul Monty, my home, down there next time I cruise from Port Canaveral! 😂  How awesome would that be? Just not during hurricane season…I can’t have my home blow/wash away. Hmmm, I’d have to figure out something for KatieKat the CampingCat too…

It looks like something ancient, ugly, possibly alien, and definitely carnivorous hatching from its egg.  I would advise you to not be sitting there when it finishes hatching.  That thing is gonna be hungry.

I'm adding my appreciation to that of all the other here.  I always enjoy your reviews and Miss Patti's pictures so much!

This is the same itinerary we did (twice) on our last cruise, a B2B on Elation in January 2020 (although the second leg missed both ports due to winds or waves and we ended up at Nassau).  So long ago.  I'm looking forward to seeing the ports again.  Thanks for taking us along!
