I’m basically set for the day. I’ll take a swim in the ocean, and then hang out in the pool. Patti heads for the beach. She’s going to take a walk over to Jack’s Shack…..

@Jamman54... beautiful pics of the empty pool.

I remember it getting pretty darn crowded and rowdy by the bar.....not to mention it was $50 for 2 drinks!

It wasn't that bad this time. Probably because we were the only ship in port today. :classic_cool:

Patti has reached Jack’s Shack…..

IMG_8597-X2.jpg

IMG_8599-X2.jpg

The place has really been upgraded since the last time we were here. Jack and Janet have retired back to Canada, but the new owners appear to be doing a great job…..

Wow, Jack's Shack has changed since the last time I was there (2020)!  I know it will never be the same as the ols days, and I'll always miss Topher when I'm there, but I'm glad the new owners seem to making a good go of it and I'll keep going back as long as they are there.

Thanks again for this, the memories you are bringing back for me of past cruises and the hopes of future cruises.🙂

We spent the day at Jack's on the Spirit leg of our S2S. Don't want to give away any details now, but be sure to read it when I post it. :classic_cool:

Jack’s looks great!  We were just there in November and none of these updates had been done yet.

Wow, they've come a long way in two months then. They are still working on the gift shop and bathrooms. :classic_cool:

Hey, Jeff, how long is the walk from the dock to Jack’s?

If you are fairly able bodied, then about 20 minutes. :classic_cool:

Enjoying your review.  Question:  Are there still "free" chairs available on the beach in front of Margaritaville under the shady palm trees?  In your photos it looked like there was just sandy beach and no place to sit.  We were never bothered with people trying to rent chairs/umbrellas - there were always plenty of seats back from the water in the shade.

Jeff, Jack's shack is one of our favorite places to stop.  Thanks for sharing the pictures.  Are there still some dogs there?  So much fun playing with Topher years ago.

There was at least one dog hanging around. We also came here on the Spirit leg of our S2S cruises, so more pictures to come! :classic_laugh:

I'm late to the party, but a big THANKS to both of you for posting this great report. 😚

I noticed the guy with the "VOTE FOR PEDRO" T shirt in the background of your photo, and have changed it to show what many of us are thinking LOL!

A short time later our food arrived. We shared an appetizer of Lava Lava Shrimp…..

IMG_8721-X2.jpg

Patti had the Turkey Club, and I had the Jambalaya…..

IMG_8723-X2.jpg

IMG_8724-X2.jpg

Because I don't want to forget that she took these, here’s a section I call Patti’s Grand Turk Flora & Fauna…..

IMG_8632-X2.jpg

IMG_8727-X2.jpg

IMG_8731-X2.jpg

We relaxed, drank, and took dips in the pool until we decided to leave around 2pm. We paid our tab which was $136 with tip and left our Grand Turk vacation home. The pool never really got crowded…..

IMG_8730-X2.jpg

This is the Pool Retreat for two which is sold on Carnival’s website for $150. The cabana rentals are $280…..

IMG_8728-X2.jpg

The last order of business is that I have to collect my Sail & Sign card at Margaritaville. I forgot to mention earlier that when you rent a cabana, you have to surrender you Sail & Sign card. Not because you can charge the food and drinks to it, which you can’t. You need a credit card or cash for that. They hold your card until you pay your bill. This way you can’t skip out without paying. No pay, no getting back on the ship!

We are now on the pier heading back to the ship. To the left you can see the excursion pier and the beached whale…..

IMG_8735-X2.jpg

To the right is the beach which is quickly emptying……

IMG_8736-X2.jpg

Patti gets a picture of me with the Freedom…..

IMG_8734-X2.jpg
