Casinos gone?

Let's wait until we board to see how it works and what it becomes.

The space could be turned into a multitude of uses.

Wait a minute, you're advocating we wait for the actual product to roll out, and then express our opinions on what it actually is/isn't? Rather than the fever dreams this board has been flooded with as to what NC is/isn't?

Well, that's rather refreshing.

Won't happen, but it is refreshing.

yes, no casino is a bummer. It was an enjoyable, friendly and fun atmosphere.I think they could have kept it on the Serenity, which is the larger of the two. I do like the idea of fewer passengers.

We always enjoyed dinner and a show, then stop by and play some ♣️ cards ♦️ with a night cap. Always felt a nice sense of luxury and mystery watching the high rollers.

Seems like a mistake, however, with feedback they may reevaluate later…hence the Lounges for the ancients to share wisdoms.

Sadly, I cancelled my pre booking deposits and sacrificed my on board credits.   Viking has done very well as someone else mentioned without a casino, and I am sure Crystal can as well.  I've been on almost every cruise line, but never booked Viking as I do like a casino as a part of my nightly entertainment.   So as was said this will sacrifice some customers, but not most.  Old Crystal was my favorite line, and while I was willing to try new Crystal out of the gates, this has put me in the wait and see category.  Hopefully they will come up with somethings that will intrigue/interest me.  I have two Explora cruises booked and the line isn't out, so I'm willing to take a chance as they will have a casino and their concepts on entertainment(which might not work at all) are intriguing to me.  I will be following these boards and look forward to hearing about the new Crystal and hope it's what so many of us want it to be and more.

Explora will definitely have a casino. I know that some high roller types are already being marketed to with offers of discounts or free cruises, although the required level of play will be pretty high.

I loved cruising with Crystal but I'm in a wait-and-see mind set. I want to get more of a sense of what folks are saying post cruise. And, I will depend on my wonderful TA to weigh in. We should expect many changes-especially higher prices.

They now offer single cabins and that is a very good idea as I know many people who complain about high supplemental rates for single cruisers. I am not aware of other cruise lines that feature that.

There aren't many of them so get in early.😁

I believe this just a place holder until they can get someone to run a casino.

I was contacted by a Crystal sales person. I told her that not having a casino is a deal breaker for us and to please remove me from solicitation list. She confirmed that former casino spaces will be used for general meeting/gathering purposes.

I am not sure if you are serious or not but there won't be a casino and putting the furniture there was not to buy time for a casino.  Will the space eventually be used for something else, that is anyone's guess.  A casino, I would wager (no pun intended) that a casino is not in the cards (again no pun intended).

I will take that wager.  Casinos are coming, the only variable is time.

TWT.

Not one of mine

that’s why they just sent out an email trying to get folks to book the inaugurals. The nc lost many many oc cruisers

Yes,I understand from my TA that he hasn't had much interest.

Understandable really with the competition out there.

Do you think that OC sailors are not prepared to pay the NC prices for something that they paid much less a few years ago.

Of course the proof of the pudding will come when they fire up and cast off.

On the other hand, we were dining last night on Seabourn with a couple we had just me from NYC.  They mentioned that they had sailed three times on OC, and that it had been their favorite in recent years.

We commented on how excited we were that Crystal would sail again, and that we had booked the 2024 WC on NC.  They were astonished to hear that there is a NC, and that Serenity will sail again.

This couple have had no communication from NC, are not among the relatively few of us who read CC regularly, and had been totally oblivious of NC.

Given the rather pathetic job NC has done of getting the word out (apparently even to those in the database they bought), it would not surprise me if sales are a bit slow at this stage.

I don’t think price is issue. Some people are holding a grudge and are not happy with the “incentive” that came too late. Others have found other lines with newer ships and superb service and food. They might never have discovered these others lines had crystal not gone kaput

Mr luxury I’m in Istanbul-boarding ovation Sunday. Anyone I should look up?

We've had along discussion about this.  Pricing varies. Depends on many things including itinerary, single or double and so forth.

I have booked cruises with NC that are as similar as you get to OC in terms of time frame and itinerary and they are either the same or less.  In comparison the hotels are considerably more.

Best not to generalize on pricing.
