Rare twangster Posted March 7, 2023 #2 Share Posted March 7, 2023 (edited) As long as you didn't get there from a RoyalUp, you get a total of 3 points per night. One point per night base, one extra point per night for being solo in a double occupancy cabin plus one more extra point per night for booking and sailing in a suite. It is generally 3 and when RCCL had double points it was 6 per night. Two people in a JS is 2, and with the double points promotion was 4 per night. Perhaps that is the confusion. I think the confusion is I see all the time get double pts in a suite as if solo didnt exist. New math. .. if I didnt see people calling it double all the time .. Rare RobInMN Posted March 7, 2023 #8 Share Posted March 7, 2023 Yes, people, even RC themselves (like here: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/crown-anchor-society/benefits/diamond-members), keep wanting to say "double points" for a suite, but that is doing a huge disservice to everyone. It's not "double", "double" implies multiplication. And while 1 + 1 = 1 x 2, 1 + 1 is correct, because as @twangster correctly points out, when you add Solo to the formula, it's all additive. 1 (base) + 1 (solo) + 1 (suite) = 3. Suites are not "double points", they are "an extra point", just like solo is "an extra point". The only time you got to multiply, was during the COVID "double points" promotion, and you got to do that at the end. (1 x 2) or ((1+1) x 2) or ((1+1+1) x 2). Before anyone got to actually sail, some solo bookings were wishful arguing for 8 per night. 1 + 1[solo]) x 2 (suite) x 2 (double points promo).
