Lolol. Ok. This makes sense.  Lol.  Not.
Seems like you have a lot of knowledge of ships banking.     So they exchange 20.00 in 2.00 bills and get a 20 back.    What the problem in tracking that ?   Lol.
and pocket 200.00 in other cash.  🤷🤷🤷

rgr by forcing their hand for no good reason except it makes you feel good?  Come on.  I bet they laugh how all these cruisers give them $2 thinking it's special...

I received a $2 bill as a gift recently and am saving it for a special occasion. I like the idea of having a bunch of them for tips on a cruise. Ship personnel can go into a U.S. bank when in port if they want to convert them. I have never had a problem with $2 in retail stores.

Lolol. Why would the casino cashier hand out 2.00 bills then ???   If they don’t like 2.00 bill why are they giving them out to cruisers ?????
and yeah they laughed all the way to the bank.    Doesn’t make me feel good.   It’s saves me space in my pocket.

Any U.S. port.

I wouldn't think that the people that receive cash tips would be allowed off in US ports because they are busy on turnaround day. Also, according to a previous post on this thread, banks don't perform such services for non-account holders.

I've only received a $2 bill once in my life from my grandmother when I was little which I still keep in my wallet... Not as money but for luck!  So weird lol...

Look the best way to settle this is to ask every crew member you meet if they prefer $2 or 2x$1.  Then if they tell you $2 then give it to them lol.  Otherwise you are just forcing it on them cause it's better than no tip.

Because you asked for it... And they keep getting it from people who thinks it's "cool". Lol.

Are you just trying to pump up your post count with these silly questions.    Or????

No, it's a serious question. Are they allowed off on the days that ships are in US ports? What about ships that don't even go to US ports?

I’ve already done this.   And non of them have refused a 2.00 bill.
like I said.  29 days at sea.    Not one refusal.    At port or at sea.

And again.  That’s what the ships bank/purser is for.
Again.  What do you think they do with all the cash they get as tips.     Mail cash home.    I think not.

I believe they get some time off on occasion. Certainly at the end of their tour.

I was responding to someone that said they can go into a US bank and convert them.

I would bet they mostly use the ships bank at whatever fees they charge.  Of course they would use the ships bank to some degree and to be fair maybe that's where they throw all the $2s and keep other bills for spending at ports or otherwise.  Just funny

I recently went into a bank and tried to get change and they refused because I did not have an account. In any case why would you want to make crew find a bank when in a US port.
