Pre-Purchasing Wifi packages as CC Elite?

I know this has been discussed but the search function does not find it so I need to ask again now that we are finally booked on a cruise for the first time since COVID...

We are both CC Elite, that gives us the option of 90 free minutes each or a 30% discount on a package, correct?  If we want to pre-purchase the package to get the advance purchase discount can we still get the the 30% discount on top of that?  If so, how do I do it?  Finally, do we both have to purchase wifi packages or can we buy one and just share it, one device at a time?   Since we are going to Bermuda from Bayonne it means a lot of sea days so I know 90 minutes each is not enough.  Thanks in advance for your advice.

You can purchase one and share… but you need to call to get your Elite discount applied to the online “sale” price.  Done it many times!

You can buy one wifi package and share it among several devices (you can share it with your partner).  However only one device can be connected to wifi thru the package at a time.  When you do log in to your package, you receive a warning that completing the logon will automatically kick the other connected device off the internet.  It's pretty manageable that way.

To get the Captains Club wifi package discount on top of the advanced purchase discount, you have to call the Captains Club for them to do it.  You can't do it by yourself online (and get both discounts).

from what we were told each package is for 1 device.     Onboard, they may bend a bit

There is no way for them to bend on wifi packages.  They activate your account for the number of devices you purchase but you can log out and log in as often as you want and switch between devices.  You just can't have more connected at the same time than the package you purchase.

In reality you are not purchasing a 1 device package you are purchasing 1 log in.  You, your travel partner, your best friend, your kid. etc could all use your log in but only 1 device can be connected at a time.

Thanks everyone. I knew that in the past you could share a single log in and done any number of times but with all of the new "deals" I wasn't sure what the rules were or how to get the added discount.  I did end up talking a Captains Club rep this afternoon and she confirmed it all for me.  Now I just need to decide on what package I want/need and make my purchase.  Of course her math was off by about $10 on the package from what I am seeing in the cruise planner.....details, details.

@Mr. Click One thing to keep in mind - it is cheaper to get a one person two devices than it is to get two person one device.  If you are buying versus upgrading and want to get a package for your travel companion this would be the least expensive way to do it.

Thanks for the reminder. With this trip I don't see the need for us to have two devices.  We are both long retired, don't really need to spend a lot of time online so sharing in the past has never been an issue.  It is all about personal needs and choices.  Oh, Go Navy!!! Beat Army!!!.

OK, I need some help here because I'm very confused.

Earlier, I called the Captain's Club line and booked a 4-device premium package with my Elite discount.  They insisted that it was 30% off the full price, not 30% off the pre-cruise web price (i.e. no stacking of discounts).  I tried hanging up and calling back and was told the same thing, so I just relented and paid the price they quoted.

I ended up calling the regular reservation line later about a separate issue with the booking.  While I was talking with the agent, she noticed I'd booked a 4-device internet package.  She wanted to make sure I understood that meant I could use up to 4 different devices in total over the course of the cruise (e.g. cell phone, partner's cell phone, tablet, and laptop) but that only 1 of those 4 devices could be connected at a time (so no using both my cell phone and my laptop simultaneously).

Can someone tell me if this is correct?  The whole point of getting a 4-device plan was so I could share with my sister, brother, and sister-in-law in other cabins but I pay for everyone (since I get the Elite discount).

The last person you spoke to gave you incorrect information.  If you purchased a 4 device plan, you can have 4 devices connected at the same time.  And you can log in and log out if you have more than 4 devices you want to use over the course of the cruise as long as you never exceed 4 devices.

I had a 4 device plan on my November cruise.  I had my iPhone, iPad, and laptop all logged in the whole cruise and at times used them simultaneously.
