A few of the Solstice class ships have not been revolutionized yet so if you sail on them, the Solstice deck is still open to all passengers. The Reflection is one I remember not being revolutionized thus far. I agree that it is very under utilized especially when the ship is at sea. We normally take a look and more times than not we find it too windy when the ship is at sea. We do enjoy sitting up there, especially for lunch, when the ship is in port and we are onboard. We are normally in a Sky Suite and the Revolution have made these suites totally unusuable for in room dining. The tables they now have in the stateroom and on the balcony are simply too small to hold a lunch service for two people. Thank you for that useful info. It wasn’t our initial choice as we thought it would be grass smoothies, salads and boring healthy stuff but we couldn’t have been more wrong. Our wine is topped up regularly and there’s a bread basket to die for. Its worth it even if you don’t use the Persian Garden. We love the persian garden on Summit and will use it every day we have a chance! Double win.

swjumbo Posted April 8, 2023 Author #84 Share Posted April 8, 2023 Just got off and completely blown away and can’t wait for our next one. We didn’t go into the casino so can’t comment about the reduced betting. Patrick the Cruise Director is leaving the ship at the end of next week for some well earned rest. He deserves it as he works really hard and was there saying bye to us when we left. Even his TV show in the morning is worth watching. High energy ship with amazing crew. We had no complaints whatsoever (apart from a very grumpy DJ who played what he wanted and seemed to enjoy an empty dance floor in Sky Lounge, boooooo). We did hear complaints about main dining from other guests but can’t comment as we weren’t there. Very strong management team presence with all hotel and deck officers seen everywhere, unlike our recent Cunard voyage. The buffet is still awesome and the ship is sparkling, unlike Cunard. If you’re going on board soon we are really jealous. Top tip. Bid for an upgrade. Final top tip. Don’t feed your family or give to charity. Use your money for a Celebrity Cruise!!! We would disagree but everyone has their own experiences and preferences. Being on a cruiseship by X is great..esp after the Covid pause In our view the Suite/ Retreat class on our Beyond Cruise was very nice but other than the larger stateroom, priority boarding and departure, we felt it was just not that special including Luminae and the upper sun/ pool area. Happy to be rejoining AQ Class next cruise ! They treat diners in BLU very well and we love access to the thermal room / lounge area....tradeoff is being in an Inf Veranda but manageable! Little by little Celebrity has managed to send the message "if you're not booked in a suite, you're a second class passenger"!! I respectfully disagree with that sentiment. I regularly sail Celebrity (6-8 cruises a year post-retirement) and I've sailed in suites, and in lower level cabins, all the way "down" to inside cabins. I never once felt like a second class citizen. I get excellent service, and great food, and nice entertainment regardless of my cabin. There are plenty of places to hang out onboard both inside and outside. It's possible your favorite place to sunbathe may have been taken over, and I'm sorry for that, but they don't treat anyone like second class passengers. Do I get a little more attention and a notch better service when I am in a suite? Yes, I'd be lying if I said otherwise. But I regularly sail in Aqua Class or Concierge and never felt anything but special.

Did you reserve any of the in-room work-out amenities? They sent me a list to chose up to 3 items. I don't think I was given that option in 2021, but we were still under Covid protocol. Do they still have the small reading area that overlooks the atrium? Did the tree survive? Will you let us know which evening was the Silent Disco? Thanks! We were onboard a couple weeks ago so can confirm the tree survived and the library reading nook is still there 🙂. Not in Aqua, so OP will need to answer other questions.

She is a beautiful ship, but sadly by revolutionising the ship, our only option for sun bathing was by the pool & this is a no no for 2, 70+ cruisers. The top sunbathing deck has been given over to suite passengers only. Doubt we'll use the Celebrity ships again. Don’t understand! Deck 14 is still open to all passengers isn’t it? But it is a busy deck, mast bar & grill, & the busy jogging track. Plus, you can clearly hear the entertainment from the pool area. The former Solstice deck on level 16 was spacious, comfortable & quiet. That area on 2 levels, is now the Retreat, for suite passengers only. We were on the Silhouette last September, our 6th. Celebrity cruise & I had a sneaky peak at the Retreat. It is very luxurious, but there were many empty loungers, whilst we struggled to find any available on deck 14. Deck 14 can be busy but rarely full in our experience. And the fact that you can hear the entertainment from deck 12 is brilliant, why wouldn’t you want to?

You are a second class passenger in a way as there are amenities not available to you. But we still think through our own experiences that we are treated in a first class way despite not being in suites. Same as everything in life, money talks, the more you pay the more you get but the important thing is do you get value for money. We feel we do and have never felt as if Celebrity were sending us that message.

We visited the spa cafe often when we were on board (3/17 - 4/1) The menu does not change from day to day, just fyi. Breakfast was avocado toast, yogurts, fruits, muesli, etc and then lunch had a wider selection. I am a huge fan of their chicken salad 🙂 Hubby likes to order the Turkey club (have to ask for it) as well as the sweet potato soup as they are hot items, but they bring it to you when it's ready. We opted for Spa cafe when we needed a break from a full sit down meal.

poohbear8 Posted April 11, 2023 #100 Share Posted April 11, 2023 I am trying to read up as much as I can, but am confused after reading through comments here. Is there an area with loungers to get sun (or shade) that is not by the pool and open to non-suite guests? Is the Spa Cafe open to everyone, or just AQ or suites?
