Shareholder Benefit Questions - and a concern!

Having recommended buying shares to a friend to get the extra OBC, similar to a few comments on here they applied last week in the same manner I always have and have had no auto reply or further response. Seems odd as always worked for me, and of there seems to be no tel no. to follow up. 
Has anyone that had a problem had a resolution yet?

Footnote (having started this thread) - I’m now comfortably in profit with OBC added to cruises now well ahead of the share purchase cost! 

I applied for 4 cruises, but 2 were after 31/7/24, which will not get approval until next years AGM n March 24.

No, I will try again today. i have already paid the final balance for the august cruise.

The auto reply should come within a couple of minutes and it confirms they have received your request. Make sure you have the correct email address. Details below from website

I have just cancelled a cruise and asked for any advice on this issue. He suggested I email the shareholderbenefits@carnivalukgroup.com address with the problem. I am going to re submit my 2 requests first.

I've just checked my last request.

I sent email on 2nd May for a cruise next March. I did not get an automated response. I received the confirmation email with the new booking confirmation on 5th May.

Ah, that might be it. Definitely used the correct email address and got no auto reply, but the other 5 cruises I applied for were all pre July 24. Can’t complain, as they are only meant to add the OBC after the balance has been paid, but they have credited all of our future cruises (bar the last one) already, hence why I’m already in profit on the share purchase. 👍

Hargreaves Lansdown in my case, but I apply for the OBC directly to Carnival rather than via HL (they offer to do it). Always had auto replies before, but not last week.

Same as Selbourne, with HL, and we apply direct to Carnival. We've not had the email receipt for the last couple, but the new booking confirmation had come through within a few days.

Also I think on Princess some people ( only in USA I think, correct me anyone if I am wrong on that) seem to get Casino Cruises either free or very heavily discounted, they seem to be refused at moment and boy aren’t they moaning about it. If someone gave me a free cruise I wouldn’t expect spending money as well.

I received an email this morning from the shareholder benefits team asking me to submit a request for the replacement cruise for my cancelled Iona November cruise. I submitted that request for a Ventura November cruise yesterday.

 

They appear to be reacting to requests but with no auto response email so as my pending Arcadia request is for August I will see what happens in the next few days.

Quick update: Although I did not get an auto response to my shareholder OBC request on 11 May, I received a response that the request had been dealt with and an updated Booking Confirmation earlier this afternoon.  Roll on September!

Well I’ve had a reply this morning to my request last week to add shareholder OBC to our November 2024 Cunard cruise, headed “Cunard Shareholders Benefit Denied”. It reads;

 

Thank you for your application for Shareholder Benefits.
 
We are unable to process your shareholder benefit application at this time as we are outside 90 days prior to departure. We are only able to accept and apply shareholder applications between 21-90 days prior to departure and the balance is paid in full.
 
I am sorry for any inconvenience caused. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

 

They are, of course, quite correct in what they say. I just find it amusing that over the past few weeks they have added shareholder OBC to four other cruises (P&O and Cunard) that are all well outside the 90 days as well!

 

I’ll just have to remember to contact them again in August 2024!

I’ve only just read through this - seems a great deal. 
 

Just purchased 100 shares through HL (£780 inc fees). Have emailed the PDF to Carnival as have a cruise coming up in a month.

I recived an email from shareholder benefits stating that they could only process the claims between 21 and 90 days prior to departure.

 

I replied telling them that my August Cruise is 82 days from departure so please process it.

 

With a copy of the request attached

How quickly did they reply to you? I sent mine off yesterday, but tomorrow is 21 days so I’m hoping they don’t take a week to read the email and then say I’m not eligible. 😁

Yes, that is the email address. Several people including me have not received the automated reply. 

 

edit - more fun i have just received another email from the saying they can't apply OBC to my November cruise because it is over 90 days from departure. I said in my email to them this morning that i will re submit that request later in the year 😁
