Rare Shippy Posted May 10, 2023 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2023 We will be taking an Alaska cruise in a few weeks on the Crown. On these kind of cruises, I really like when there are coat hooks on the wall when you first enter the cabin. Our Alaska coats are heavy & sometimes you get in from port wet. I have watched several youtubes on these cabins but have not been able to tell. Anyone know ? thanks :O)
Rare cr8tiv1 Posted May 10, 2023 #2 Share Posted May 10, 2023 I have never seen coat hooks on the wall. I bring my own LONG hooks that I hang in the closet.

Seem to remember there's always a hook on the wall after walking into the cabin. Could be wrong though.
mtnesterz Posted May 11, 2023 #4 Share Posted May 11, 2023 (edited) Buy a set of magnet hooks. Your local Harbor Freight or online. The cabin walls are steel. Magnets are also great for hanging papers you don't want to get mixed up with other things on the desk. I think its $5 for 4, 5# rating. tawlaw1526 Posted May 11, 2023 #6 Share Posted May 11, 2023 I was just on the Crown in March/April and I do believe there is a hook right when you walk in the cabin door if my memory serves. I just looked through my pictures and don’t have any that shows the hook.
DiRonT Posted May 11, 2023 #7 Share Posted May 11, 2023 I believe there is one hook as you enter but we always bring magnetic hooks (100lb weight) to hold hats, bags, etc at the entrance area.

I think the those heaver duty might be better for coats & jackets then the ones sold by Harbor Freight.

H.F also sells 25lb hooks. But that would be for one super wet coat! 😄 Edited May 11, 2023 by mtnesterz
KreinKrunker Posted May 12, 2023 #10 Share Posted May 12, 2023 Command strips and hooks work really well on the back of the door. Clean the area first. Don't work as well on the walls. In fact, we got on the Coral one time and found a hook that we forgot to take off the year before.

From my experience just make sure that you get strong enough hooks. Another option is to bring a strong hanger & hang it of the shower head. We don't even have heavy coats since we live in south Florida and never need them. 😄
Rare LACruiser88 Posted May 12, 2023 #13 Share Posted May 12, 2023 These hooks work great for us. From Amazon.

Rare trbarton Posted May 13, 2023 #17 Share Posted May 13, 2023 If you don’t need a lot of hooks consider this from Amazon. Note that they are 100 lbs. Tom😀
