Being that we'll be on the ship for 40days, guess we'll get a lot of water views in.😀 Thank-you for the info.

We always stay at Devere Hotel Potts Point. We like the neighbourhood. Lots of restaurants, Walk to harbour. Two local busses. Best price book direct.

He says well-located, rooms are a funny shape, getting a bit tired pre-pandemic but a nice hotel. Close to centre of town, Hyde Park, easy walk down to Opera House and Circular Quay.

It is pretty much in the middle of it all. Lots of dining options a short walk away, and Luke Mangan's Glass Brasserie is in the hotel. It is a couple of km's back from the harbour at Circular Quay, but easy to get around the city. Probably a bit far to walk to the passenger terminal with luggage, but an easy cab ride.

Probably the best thing going for the Hilton is transport. Train and light rail ( street car) are out the front. If you have access, the club lounge is on the 36th floor and is a good thing to have. Start and finish the day.

We stayed there 6 days (4 upon arrival in Australia, 2 before boarding our cruise after returning from a week in New Zealand) last month and agree with your assessment about transportation and the club lounge. It’s not the most glamorous in ways of tourism but the transport makes up for that.

I have stayed there. It is a nice business hotel in the middle of the CBD. It is close to Hyde Park and the ANZAC Memorial and shops, Not far to Chinatown and Paddy's Markets at Haymarket. Light rail on George street
Rare Mareblu Posted May 18, 2023 #35 Share Posted May 18, 2023 Because we have an Accor Card, we usually stay at Sofitel Wentworth in Phillip Street. A very brief cab ride to Circular Quay, and with comfortable rooms; a little on the small side for standard so we usually upgrade to a Club King, which includes access to Club Lounge. That means we don't always need the restaurant, but when we choose to dine there, we always find the French offerings superb. There's also a pleasant, relaxing piano bar downstairs. We have stayed at Four Seasons, which is a very short walk to OPT, and found it very comfortable, with a very nice restaurant.
Cruisin'allovertheworld Posted June 21, 2023 Author #36 Share Posted June 21, 2023 OP here. Apologies for the lack of reply- I wasn't notified for whatever reason. January 21st is the night in question. Thanks for all the opinions and suggestions- I will be looking into them. We have family in Sydney and they always insist that I/we stay with them which is nice but this is a secret girls' trip with my mum and we'd like to be closer to the port than Clovelly and not have to deal with catching up with everyone. 2

Aussieflyer Posted June 27, 2023 #38 Share Posted June 27, 2023 We tend to stay at an Accor (Sofitel Wentworth) or IHG property (Intercontinental) at CQ - both are easy to get to and then an easy walk across to the OPT as it is all downhill. Have also stayed at the Four Seasons and the location is great though rooms are a bit of an odd shape.
Suzcruz75 Posted June 27, 2023 #39 Share Posted June 27, 2023 A by Adina is worth a look, super modern and clean studio/apartment accomodation, opposite Wynyard station and light rail. Good for access to shops/restaurants and walkable to circular Quay or 2 stops on light rail
