DW and I did a third-party excursion to Seville a few years ago. It convinced me to never book an independent day long excursion which travels that far from the ship. Two other passengers got detached from the group on our walk back to where the buses were parked and we were delayed leaving by about 45 minutes. It was the guide's fault as she never checked on the "pack" she was leading and the passengers couldn't keep up with her pace.

exactly the reason I felt even more uncomfortable. We have a long day in port today, but the tour was 4 hours, and the travel time nearly the same. The other two independent tours we took/booked  were only 20 minutes from the port.

We recently cruised on a Spanish intensive cruise with Azamara. We chose it because the small ship was able to sail up the river and dock in the centre of Seville, where we berthed overnight. The sail in and out through locks was fabulous and Seville is absolutely beautiful. I would really recommend it. We’re going to return for a long weekend.

If you do don’t go in the summer, the heat is unbearable.

Indeed there was a heatwave over Southern Spain last week and it hit 42 deg in Seville.

Apologies to @niksmom630for the digression, but which month did you visit Seville on Azamara?

Lol, ORD is ours….the United clubs there are not nearly as nice, and pretty crowded.

All I can say about the Greek isles cruise is “do it”. Covid was still pretty hot when we sailed in may 2022. We had to test 3x! Boarding INTL flight out of Chicago, then before boarding the cruise, then to fly home. Very stressful!!!!!

thanks @dani negreanu confession #2..,..as you know I predominately hang out on the Royal boards, so since I had little experience with celebrity, I’m pretty sure I read some of the same  Infinity reviews. 😔 I’m reserving judgement and going in with an open mind…I only have the Edge to compare to, which was wonderful, actually ☺️ so much so that I have the Apex booked for later this year and the Ascent in 2024

Is the pool heated??

Nice cruise and nice review.  We have been on Infinity twice.  Once during her inaugural year and then again 14 years later.  I very much like the Millennium class ships.

Today we had no excursions planned. One of my traveling companions used to own a property in Mijas, and suggested grabbing a taxi or Uber into town for shopping and lunch.

it was a 30 minute ride, 38 euro. Taxi prices were comparable, so we opted for Uber. Really quaint little town. Shopping is pretty much typical souvenir stuff, but also a lot of leather goods and clothing.

Last nights dinner was the Chefs Table experience in Tuscany. I believe we pre booked this with a 15% discount and paid around $129, but I see it listed in the planner for $138 + gratuity. We did not do the wine pairing, but I think that was an additional  $60.

the meal was fabulous, and I’m not a “foodie” by any means, so I was pretty proud of myself for being a little adventurous  😂

we were told to meet in Cellar Masters, and we met our table mates and had some champagne and small bites before being escorted down to Tuscany

this was some type of watermelon tart topped with lobster…👍

puff pastry filled with some type cream cheese, chives and probably something else that I can’t recall. Good thing I took a picture of the menu for the main meal 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m  not a fan of curry usually but the soup was excellent

next up was the risotto, which was under this green frothy stuff….

also excellent

to be honest, by this time I was already getting pretty full, and I didn’t even finish each course completely. Additionally the soup and risotto were on the heavier side, and the servings were large.

I missed getting a photo of the sea bass, but it was a full piece! You must have a big appetite for this experience .

the main course. Perfectly cooked but I could barely finish a few bites of each….

The last photo is of the dessert. The chef told us desserts were not his speciality, and that the head pastry chef had prepared it. It was probably my least favorite thing of the entire meal. It wasn’t horrible, but the flavors were overpowering and it didn’t help that I was feeling absolutely stuffed

Thanks for posting the ship photos! I will be on the Infinity later this year, and have been hearing the ship is in rough shape. I think it looks beautiful!

I’m in agreement with you. Most of the soft finishings have been refreshed and the common areas,  bars and other venues look good. The many sight lines to the sea remind me of Brilliance which was always one of my favorite “little” ships 💕

I suspect much like some people view the glass as half full, others see it as half empty 😉 but, the photos don’t lie
