AARP Rewards eGift Cards

The Princess cards and other cards that you don't have to be an AARP member to purchase has a limit of 5 cards per person per month.  Just got done purchasing 10 cards @ 500 between mine and my DH's accounts.

An update for those who had read the saga of our $500 Princess Gift Card purchased through AARP that we were told by Princess was empty - and between us and our TA there were many calls, emails and chats between AARP Rewards, Princess Gift Cards and Princess to no avail.  Last week my last call was with AARP and I was told my case was being sent to a resolution team....at least someone was doing something - I hoped!  I planned to call today to see if there was any update, and it bothered me I didn't have a case number or any ref to go by.  But this morning I received an email from our TA saying Princess had processed the missing gift card - and since I had made a payment from another source - that had been refunded.  So some hassle - but all's well 🙂

They are still there.  Use the search button and put Princess, to get to the page, when you’re ready to purchase.

Looked just now to check. Princess gift cards are still showing on the AARP site.

I have a random amount that was credited back to one of my gift cards and would like to apply it as obc to one of my upcoming cruises.  But the personalizer only gives me the options of credit card or paypal.  Do I have to call in to apply the gift card or wait until I'm onboard?  Thx.

I would do it OB with GS. Print out the GC for them, they will want a paper copy. Write down the amount leftover and check your balance on the card.

 

The phone agents have problems figuring out how to add a GC, much less a partial card.  JMO from previous experience. 

 

If you have a TA/CVP they may be able to add a GC for OBC for you.

FYI unless you are using encrpted email it is not secure and can be viewed as it passes from server to server. New send the card numbbers and pins in he ssame email. The chance are small but it can happen. Hackers have software that looks for what looks like card and pin numbers.

Can't buy Princess gift cards no matter what.  Called them, and the lady tried to help to no avail. Said she was sending the matter somewhere else, I guess to another team.

I did everything right, and bought some in May. could not in early August.  I am not a member right now, but that doesnt matter for the Princess cards. I hope to hear from them soon!  very frustrating.

I purchased a $500 card on July 31. I just went to AARP and could put a $500 card into my cart and go to final step to pay, I did not go further.

 

Are you getting an error after you enter credit card info to pay?

I'm actually looking at them right now.  I've not used them before and am trying to determine if I can use them to pay for my Princess EZ Air early ticketing.  (I was also trying to determine if I can use them for a cruise I purchased through a TA and it appears I can).

I used these gift cards to pay for the booking on my current cruise which includes EZ Air.

The Princess gift cards used to show up automatically with the other gift cards like Carnival and Royal Caribbean.  Now they do not and I have to do a search on that page.  Just scroll down and enter "Princess" on the search bar.

I click on see all rewards and then on more rewards at the bottom and scroll until I see it.

Yes, I get the error message. That is why I called, I guess on Thursday.  It is strange that i can't buy them. I'll lose about 64$ by not getting more of them. Why is it so difficult? When i bt. some in May I was fine.

I think @wallyj was really asking "What is the error message?" Not did you get one. We can't really help much without more info.

The message is "there was an error" or something like that, and "please call if you keep getting it". so i called them. So far, no answer.

STILL can't buy anything after calling again. This lady said to wait an hour after taking out the ad blocker.  Waited an hour and a half. No luck. Tried just buying another food gift card. I can't.  I am blocked and don't know why. Good thing i had no trouble in May and was able to save some money on my cruise. Final payment was today.     

AARP is supposed to contact me soon. What a pain. Paid a bit more for my cruise  on my final payment because of this problem.
