Well well well.... fancy seeing you here!

It's Dream Time!

(hip timely reference the kids will surely enjoy)

Well, it's almost time to head back out there! This'll be my third time on the Dream, tying her with the Breeze, Freedom, and yes, the Holiday for most times sailed on one ship. It's an 8 day out of my homeport of Galveston to Key West, Half Moon Cay, Nassau, and Freeport. Unfortunately, @HelloItsMeB and her real job can't make it, so it's a solo journey this time 'round. I know, I know... my apologies in advance!

Carnival Dream - Wikipedia

So I have a lot of time spent on the Dream class - this'll make it 3 Dream, 1 Magic, 3 Breeze. I really like the class as kind of a jumbo Conquest class/bridge to Vista class, despite some issues I have (no sports bar?). I LOVE the Breeze - i feel like it's one of the most significant ships in Carnival's evolution. It's the first Post-Farcus design, and you can clearly see design elements from the Breeze in every new ship since. That said, the Dream is my least favorite in the class - The Collection in lieu of a Red Frog Pub alone is cruising blasphemy. No Cucina, etc. etc.... THAT SAID... i still love the class, and she started here. Dream is an old fave and I've had tons of fun on her. Can't wait for more. So many firsts on this ship, and I do dig a lot of the decor. (sit down, weird microscope bacteria wall at the aft pool)

It's no secret I like weird island of misfit toys cabins, so i booked an "inside" on deck 6 with a window overlooking the secret deck overlooking the bow. Kind of stoked about this, tbh. Could be fun!

So for those of you who followed along with our epic 12 day Pride Europe cruise at the beginning of this summer..... this is going to be a polar opposite. That cruise was incredible and GO GO GO and a different incredible port every day. We logged 5+ miles on the daily, didn't get CHEERS, and ship time was limited. THIS TIME? Look.... I go back to school a week after I get home. There's a lot going on. I FULLY plan to give you all the most insanely dull LIVE you have EVER seen! I'm gonna nap, drink, eat, and move as little as possible. I'm planning on staying onboard in Nassau and Freeport and floating blissfully in the pool half the day. That said, I LOVE Key West - may be my favorite spot on earth - so I'll be on the move there. I also love HMC, and haven't been in a few years, so I'm stoked about that day. Other than that? Expect a lot of booze, casino, shows, random ship pics, and just following the waves and doing as little as possible.

If that's cool with you, WELCOME ABOARD! Let's get this party going....

Exterior Dusk Image of La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Galveston West Seawall hotel in Galveston, Texas

So here's a twist.... I'm generally a Marriott Bonvoy guy, but with Galveston hotels being what they are (few and highly priced), I heard that the LaQuinta Galveston West Seawall allowed free parking if you booked through the Wyndham app. Soooooo I don't normally stay at Wyndham properties, but I've had Wyndham Diamond status because of the status match with Caesars Diamond. Also, getting a hotel in Galveston for $200 with parking included is a steal - the cheapest parking at the pier (still having to take a shuttle) is $150 for this cruise, so this is a slam dunk...

THAT SAID....

Apparently cruise parking is free for everyone who booked through Wyndham for cruises up to 7 days. This is an 8 day cruise. I called ahead, they confirmed the 7 day thing, I panicked and hung up. I've worked at hotels. We don't closely cruise the parking lot. I'm Diamond. I'll be off the ship quick. But still. I'm gonna gamble. The great debate - do I admit it's an 8 day sailing? I say yes. I'll happily pay a few extra bucks for one more night. But really, come on. Just lemme park my sensible Volvo one more night. She ain't hurting anyone. TBD BABY

Anyone who missed what we've done before....

This was this summer's amazing European adventure....

I did the Glory solo out of NOLA on Spring Break.... (yeah, I'm a teacher if you didn't get it by now)

My better half @HelloItsMeB and I spent the new year on the Mardi Gras....

And I was on MG solo for Thanksgiving....

There are more, but I'll stop here. This one is gonna be it's own boring boozy sleepy animal and i CAN NOT WAIT BABY

Always a pleasure to join you (remotely from VA) on your cruises! As a retired teacher with 36 years behind me, I understand your need of a "last hurrah" before the start of a new school year! Bless your ♥!! 😉 Let the fun begin!!

We had 6203 on Magic in May.  LOVED this room.  A very nice interior.  I didn't hop out onto the deck as much as I thought I would, but it was extremely nice having the access right there, especially when docking and hopping out for some quick views.

Be sure to leave your luggage behind for some drama!

My God.... if I manage to lose my luggage while driving to the pier and never giving up possession of it, well...... (who am i kidding? This is entirely possible)
