Does the line provide btld water in cabin

If you are a top tier Latitudes member, you get a bottle of water on embarkation. The only free water in your cabin is from the bathroom faucet or if you are in a Owner's Suite.

You can use a clean glass in the buffet to fill your water bottle. You may not place your water bottle up to any water dispenser on the ship. You may be able to get a bar tender to fill your bottle also.

Your stateroom minibar will have....

You can buy a water package

Or you could have booked when 6L of water per person was one of the Free at Sea perks.

You may not bring your own water onto the ship.

Effective for sailings July 15, 2016 and beyond, guests are prohibited from bringing any beverages -- including liquor, beer and non-alcoholic drinks such as water, pop and juices -- on board either as carry-on or checked luggage, with the exception of purified or distilled water in factory-sealed containers for use in conjunction with medical devices or for the reconstitution of infant formula; and fully sealed and/or corked wine bottles for personal consumption onboard that is subject to screening and a corkage fee (for guests 21 years of age or older). Open beverages of any kind must be consumed or discarded at the security check-point, on embarkation day and at any port of call. This revised policy brings the company in line with other best practice travel security protocols and reduces the need for individual time consuming screening and package inspection of large volumes of beverages.

So happy to see NCL use Flow. It’s a company local to me and always my go to if I am drinking bottled water.

With NCL charging over $3 a liter for water, let's hope FLOW is getting some of that mark-up for your town.

Think of it like a convenience store. I watch people lined up to pay $2.75ish for liter bottles of name-brand water every morning when I get my coffee. Does 7-11 kick-back to those companies? For the cruise line, you're spending fuel to move thousands of pounds of bottled water around the ocean and taking up valuable space to store it. No, a cruise ship is not Costco with unlimited space and zero costs once it arrives in the store.

There are suckers born every minute. Including those who spend a fortune on coffee.  As to NCL's mark-up, if somebody's willing to pay for it, that's their business.  But cost-wise, do they charge an equivalent mark-up for other bottled drinks? If not, I'd say they make a healthy profit margin on water.

"healthy profit". You continue to ignore that there are handling and transportation costs for moving thousands of pounds of water around the ocean. The prices below are no worse than a bar at any resort hotel.

I can confirm the company is doing well

If you were to order directly from flow in the US you would be paying 3.17 per litre so the cruise line isn’t really marking up above normal.

I was doing the exact opposite of "ignoring it." I was wondering if similar things had the same mark-up, and it looks like you were right.  Those half a dozen items on the bottom of your list are canned/bottled liquids and have a pretty inflated price.  The first six drinks are probably fountain, which is a lot cheaper and easier to deal with for them.  Thanks for the info, I'm still never going to buy water.

Yes, you bring the bottle and fill up with water in the sink! Bon Voyage!

I agree.  Not to further the debate, but I really don’t understand paying for bottled (boxed) water on the ship, except maybe to have it to bring ashore.  The water on the ship is basically distilled water.  It’s perfectly safe to drink.  In fact I think it tastes better than the Dlow water, which personally I think has an odd taste.  Bring your own water bottle.  Fill it from the sink, at the buffet, whatever,  Any bar will give you water any time you ask - with or without ice.  Almost all cabins have a refrigerator.

Sorry, I just don’t get paying for water on a cruise ship.

Yes, completely bizarre to me as well.  I've lived most of my life in the Pac NW though where the tap water is great.  When I've lived in CA and AZ, I certainly did understand putting a filter on your tap, or buying the big gallons of water from those machines for a quarter though. And when I've lived in tropical less-developed countries I've bought cold filtered water from street vendors for pennies.
But if you have enough money burning a hole in your pocket to pay more than $3 a liter for water on a fancy cruise ship, do the world a favor and spend it on your favorite charity instead.

I was fortunate to book while they had the special of 6 1-liter bottles for guests 1 & 2.  My wife and I have a back-to-back out of Greece this summer.  I am sure we will use those 6x2x2 (Promotion) + 2x2x2 (Saphire Status) = 32 bottles.

And when they are gone, we will fill from the sink.

Distilled water is flat, just tasteless it is mineraless.    the ship water tastes salty to me and I swell drinking it.  I love the Flow water,  it tastes great.  I drink it at home too, I don't drink any tap water, ever. even at home. and yeah as a child, water  from the hose was a blech nope. lol

How is spending on water any different that a beverage upgrade, a bigger room, more specialty restaurants,  or any other thing people blow money on.  Like the casino?  If it is burning a hole in the pocket over water then what is getting Haven considered?  lol

The salt is completely removed from the drinking water on the ship.  You are swelling from all the salt in the food.  At home if you ate three meals a day at a restaurant for a week, you would swell from all that salt as well.

Here's what is in your shipboard water system... normally a little more diluted so you don't see it as well. We only drink bottled water on ship, at hotels, and at home (I have worked for a municipal water system and know exactly what is in those water towers).

If that's what's in your water I'll help you with the lawsuit.

Total shenanigans, obviously a photo of a one-off sink with a bad filter or rusty pipe somewhere.  If my water looked like that, the least of NCL's problems would be having to provide me with all the free liters of bottled water I wanted.
