15% off through Chase

One of my Chase cards has a 15% off on Carnival this month so check your Chase offers.  Good for up to $129 cash back.  I believe it is a targeted offer as my Chase Aer Lingus card offers it but my Chase United and BA don't.  Just wanted to post for anyone else with a Chase card to remind them to check their offers.

I had that offer recently on one of my Chase cards, but I missed the fine print that it was good for one time use only.  So even though the offer hadn’t expired, after I used it to prepay gratuities on an upcoming cruise, I couldn’t go back the next day and use it for excursions or anything else.  Details matter!   In hindsight, maybe I should have bought gift cards in the amount needed to get the maximum cash back.

I had this on 2 of my cards.  I did 2 separate purchases of $800 Carnival Gift Cards and was credited $120 on each card, within a few days.

Did you buy them through the Carnival website?

I did.  Nice that Carnival Gift Cards you can use for Cruise itself or for Drink Package/Excursions or to use on the ship.  Not all Cruise Lines have gift cards that flexible.

Can you use it to buy Carnival Gift cards through AARP?

No, But if you have the Cash Rewards card from BAC that lets you select your 3% category as internet spend, that counts. So, although my Chase only has 10% back, I won't use that offer

I recently also bought cards on AARP  using my AMEX that gives extra cash back for "internet shopping". Th AARP purchase did not get coded for the bonus

I checked, no luck for me.  ☹️  Thanks anyway.

I never get Carnival offers on my Marriott Bonvoy Bold card(no annual fee).  The only travel related offers I get are for various Marriott hotel brands and recently Southwest Airlines.  I fly American Airlines, and the hotel offers never show up when I am actually staying at the featured brand.  I mostly get restaurants, meal kits, cookware, online snacks, ticket sellers, Dell, and other random stuff.

I think my offers were on a Southwest Card and Ink Card.

I have 3 Chase cards. The Amazon card is the only one with 15 per cent offer up to $129.I figure I can buy $860 in gift cards to get full valueExpires Sept 16.Usually but them through AARP but 15 percent is better than 10 percent.

Wonder why that one is only 10%.  Anything helps though, right?

Chase offers are targeted and not always equal-OP got a much better offer.

Mine is going to be wasted anyway because I'll just buy gift cards from AARP @ 10% off and get additional cash back for the purchase from another credit card

Does this work if we prepay our internet and purchase cruise cash thru carnival.com?

I'd like to know this too. We want to pre-pay for the Internet using this offer but I'm not sure if this would work...

Also while checking out on the Carnival website there is an option to apply OBCs to the purchase. We don't want to use OBC for this so we can take advantage of $35 cash back from Chase. If we didn't click Apply I hope the site will not add our OBCs as payment automatically. The Chase offer wouldn't work then....

Anyone tried it?

I have a lot of OBC for both cruises that I used the offer for.  I just didn't check the box to apply OBC.  No issues. My OBC is still there and my offer was applied.

I couldnt find anyway to not use my OBC when I had this offer last month when I was going to purchase the Cheers! with the offer.  We planned to do some specialty dinning anyhow, so I just got my cart balance up to where I still got the maximum $129 chase credit while also using my OBC.
