On the Casinos at Sea issue, I always book through them.  Maybe I just don’t gamble enough, but my guy has always told me he can’t discount a Haven cabin.  😢

They absolutely can. Now I book theough Casinos at sea because I work for a company that partners with NCL casino. I always get the 10% discount. I know not a lot but adds up.

Now the best haven deal I have found so far latlely is on the Epic for January. We are booked on the escape 4 of us in a 2 bedroom Haven and total price was $9300. Same weekend on the Epic 2 bedroom Haven suite is $7082. We almost switched but decided to keep the Escape

I’d happily take another 10% off a Haven cabin, but my guy told me he couldn’t do anything for me for the Haven.  I think it depends on your play and maybe your affiliations.  I regularly get “free” insides and 20% of any room I want except for the Haven.  Just reporting my experience.  I’ve been booking through CAS for several years, even though I’m not a heavy gambler.

The TA I most recently used offered $375 "rebate" after the cruise...plus free prepaid gratuities. A good deal if you can get it.

I'm right there with you on the "10%" Veteran's Discount. I have no clue how they calculate it...it's not even 10% off the base fare, as you would expect. They use some sort of fuzzy math because it never comes out to 10% of anything that I can determine. But it's still nice to be recognized with at least something off.

I asked my TA one time to explain how they came up with the 10% Military Discount.  She sent some gobbledygook NCL sent her.  I kept pressing for how it was calculated.  Again, nothing that made any sense.  Finally, I gave up amd just to the discount they gave.

Agree, nice to be recognized, regardless!

When we cruise with NCL for the first time, almost 10 years ago, I didn't know about the Haven. But after some research I thought it sounded neat but way out of our price range. However luck was within on our side and the price tumble down to basically what we pay for our balcony and all the  extras if you had to pay separately. So I booked a lovely Haven spa suite. This got us hooked

However we always try never to go over go over £300pppn. Give or take. That's our gauge. One other factor we also consider is that not all havens are equal. So bear that in mind too

This has come down another £375pp again today.  A great deal for a 2-bed?

£4,435 (c.$5,633) for 2 people

£4,817 (c.$6,118) for 4 people, or £109.50 a night (c.$139 per night) !

That's a heck of a good price!! Especially on a ship with a real Haven.

If we wouldn't lose our 3x extra Latitude points per night, I would totally upgrade.  (I know Haven gets extra points too but it would leave us below platinum vs being platinum at the end of the cruise.)

Is it just me or are these 'great' prices European or Trans Atlantic?

All the deals I have seen are for Europe and Trans Atlantic but I am only searching for a November trip on NCL's newest ships. $500 for 2 people per night on the Prima and Viva are great deals for me! My "deal number" is usually a Haven cabin under $600 per night so these are even better for me but you are right it appears to be Europe or Trans Atlantic - the airfare can kill the "deal"!!! I have not pulled the trigger yet because airfare is so high or to many air miles.

I just booked us on an HE with the Norwegian Prima at 2040pp from Barcelona to Rome on 1-11 of November. IMO this is an excellent deal, considering that the weather can still be pretty good in western Mediterranean at that time. Also, Barcelona and Rome are great cities to visit at the time of the year. You can also get very good deals on flights to both cities.

The Haven prices for European cruises in November are all pretty good, but keep in mind that the weather, especially in the eastern part can be pretty cold in late November already.

I LOVE this thread and hope it will stay afloat and be more for future bookings but I thought I got a good deal for my August 13 Joy HJ cabin, which was $2,700 per person with my TA AND I had a $1000 FCC (2 $500) It was the first time we have booked outside the Courtyard, but we were right by the elevators on Deck 14 and I think unless I get a winning upgrade bid or a fab price, I will always book outside Haven by elevators again. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be LOL

There seems to be some decent pricing on multiple sailings of the Epic this spring.   Not all of the itineraries are great but we booked one simply because it's our favorite Haven,  the port is driving distance and we have 20 days on Oceania a few months after.

Ps: many of the sailings also have the extra Latitudes bonus point.

I just wanted to thank you SO much for your advice on the Joy and booking my HJ cabin on Deck 14 by the elevators! It was the first time we were booked outside the Courtyard and I would 100% do it again, given the location on where we were! My dh was skeptical but I held my ground and he agrees, we would book again outside the Courtyard as long as we are right next to the forward elevators.

Pre cruise I asked for a lounger (was going to do when on but figured can't hurt to ask) and it was also already on my balcony. Loved our butler, room steward and the assistant concierge Mr. X.

Cheers!

Really happy you loved the location of your cabin as I remember you were concerned originally.     Stayed in that location twice (once in a Haven and once in a non Haven Suite) and absolutely loved the location.   As I said previously, we did not miss being inside the Haven as it took less than a minute to get there.  And then a minute to get the the DBH!

LOL, yes. Thank you. I, too, would absolutely book there again. I missed cruising. It was our first one since pandemic. Will be booking another soon 🙂

Well, I could not be happier with the positive response to this thread.  Actually, it is more then the response.  It is extremely helpful to me personally.  I got the idea when folks started to ask me to update "again" my secrets to the Haven Post.  The two previous ones were to long.  I thought about that and said, why not create a venue for the best Haven Deals instead. BINGO and Thanks to all for the contributions.

OK, here is my deal.  My older sister has never gone on a cruise.  I want to take her on one.  As I have said so many times, I am spoiled and will stay booking the Haven.  However, she is on budget.  The deals that all of you are providing will allow me to work within her budget.

When I choose a cruise with I will do in the upcoming weeks, I hope everyone might consider joining and having a Cruise Critic Haven Party.  Just a thought and the only issue is the Haven bar on that cruise might run out of spirits.

Cruise well and enjoy every moment.

We booked an H6 2-bedroom on the Epic, transatlantic NYC-Rome 31 March-15 April 2025.  Three people sharing the total cost of $12,240.81 (includes 10% Military discount), $294.24 per person per night.

Downside is, in my opinion, the Epic is a warm-weather ship and the Atlantic ain’t that warm in early April!  Doesn’t have a Haven sun deck, but I’m hoping to find some sun at Posh (free access for Haven guests).

Love, love, love the idea of a Haven CC party!  If anyone else is also booked for our 4 upcoming cruises, kindly 🥰 let me know.

Re the (off topic) 3-bedroom Garden Villas, the largest one in NCL’s fleet is on the Dawn.  We booked it in September 2019.  Only time all 3 sisters and their husbands cruised together.  Outside deck was about 4,000 sq. feet on 2 levels, with private hot tub, sauna, and commercial kitchen that included a microwave.  Two of the 3 bedrooms were master bedrooms.  Third one was size of mini-suite.  If you get the chance, book starboard side (port side GV didn’t have kitchen).  If 3 couples book it, could be very affordable.

We loved the Gem, but like Sthrngary, we would now not book an NCL ship that didn’t have a Haven restaurant, bar & lounge.  The Dawn GV, however, would be the exception.

Gary,  I'm already booked on Prima out of Galveston in Feb and Encore out of Miami in 2025.  Would love to see you on one of those.

BTW, in the spirit of this thread, I just snagged a price drop of $2523 on my Prima cruise.

I think most roll calls here on CC offer a Meet and Greet.  NCL does a nice job in welcoming us and allowing for face time with the senior officers.  I don’t know if they’d offer a M&G in the Haven, but worth an ask.  All they can say is no.

They could have it in the pool/lounge area.

@graphicguy My idea was never to make another official M&G.  It was to 1) Find a GREAT Haven Deal; 2) Have a bunch of Haven Faithful book the cruise just for the fun of it. 3) Make an unofficial meeting in the Haven of many that post on the many Haven streams.

The whole Idea was just a "Thought".  Just a "What if".  I have gone to my share of CC meet and greats.  Usually in a bar, usually very quiet with some prices given out.  Wine is served and maybe chips.  A member of two of the officers show up not very enthused.  I figured, we all have a drink package, we are in the Haven anyway, the bar is great, and if we want some real food, was ask the Haven Restaurant a few days in advance.  Do will all remember years ago when we had Sliders and Fries when we were escorted to the Haven Lounge.  I miss some of those niceties.

Again, not a formal thing. But, who knows.  Maybe this takes on a life of itself.  All that matters is we all have Way To Much Fun.

Cruise well and enjoy every moment.
