watsonbeau Posted September 26, 2023 #1 Share Posted September 26, 2023 Not doing drinks package as doubt we’d drink enough to break even. However looking at maybe the 6 or 12 bottle wine package. Do you book this onboard or before departure? Also do they charge per bottle with some discount then taken off or is it a set price for the package chosen ? Sorry can’t find anything on Cunard website so hope someone can advise please. Thank you

Thank you The wine collections brochure link is https://www.cunard.com/content/dam/cunard/marketing-assets/pdf/life-on-board/drinks-packages/wine-collections-brochure.pdf The 'wine collections' page does not seem to be in the USA site - and the UK version does not have prices, instead referring you to the personalizer [and likely a phone call to order]

Thank you Hi we purchased the wine package on board, we spoke to the sommelier who provided us with a list of the wines currently available. The list below is the one we had in June 2023. Each evening he deducted a little paper voucher from the booklet he provided when we had selected that evenings choice. Rare rakkor Posted September 27, 2023 #5 Share Posted September 27, 2023 That brochure is from 2020, when we booked the package for our upcoming Greek Islands cruise, I asked for an updated version and that's the version that I was sent. So, be aware it's only an indication of the quality of the wine included and not the actual wines themselves. Last September's wine package on QE differed considerably from those shown. Rare terry&mike Posted September 27, 2023 #6 Share Posted September 27, 2023 Onboard QM2 now, we purchased the Captain’s Collection package of 6 bottles for $310. I will post the lists below, but the photos are not great. We loved the Berton Vineyards Cab Sav Reserve, and also The Footbolt red was very good. Last night we had a Sancerre rose’ wine, which was enjoyable.
Bell Boy Posted September 27, 2023 #7 Share Posted September 27, 2023 I aways go for a 'Wine Package'. Great for the restaurant, none of this hassle trying to flag a Sommelier down each time you want a 'Glass of Wine as in the Drinks packages'. You can pre arrange for a bottle from the wine collection to be delivered to any Alternative dining venue , you can even have a bottle (or take it away) delivered to your stateroom for drinks on the balcony/room service etc. You can also enjoy wine from the collection in any Bar Venue ( Commodore Bar for example) the Bar staff will take care of it for your next return And finally if you don't manage to consume all the bottles , any unopened can be taken home with you .
Rare terry&mike Posted September 27, 2023 #8 Share Posted September 27, 2023 I will mention that we had the Aruma Malbec one night, and although it was good, we would not consider it great or memorable.
sfred Posted September 27, 2023 #9 Share Posted September 27, 2023 These are the Captains and Commodores wine lists from QE for August/September 2023. Apologies for the markings and creases - the list got a lot of use on our recent voyage. We purchased the 12 bottle Commodore package prior to departing from Australia, by phoning the Sydney contact centre and buying the package in A$. On our embarkation day, the sommelier supplied us with the coupon book. We could use the 12 coupons on any combination of wines in the collection that we wanted.

Rare D&N Posted September 27, 2023 #15 Share Posted September 27, 2023 Easy/non iron cotton shirts look fine if dried on hangers. Most other things don't need ironed if smoothed out while damp. 1

Here it's easier to move them from machine to balcony and for most of year everything is dry in a couple of hours.
Rare NE John Posted September 27, 2023 #19 Share Posted September 27, 2023 I’m the “ironer” of the family, even in the laundromats of Cunard. The irons are actually pretty good and well maintained.

No. The $310 charge for the 6 bottle Captain’s package came on our account as $310 flat rate.
Rare NE John Posted September 28, 2023 #25 Share Posted September 28, 2023 The wine tasting we did was $110 each, inclusive of service charge. We added an extra gratuity. The Planeta Chardannay from Sicily on the above list is well worth checking out. Unlike any other Chard I’ve tasted, in a good way.
