Right now there is valid question over the direction (or lack thereof) the Celebrity product in general. A lot of people will tell you they pick Celebrity because of the generally adult-oriented/kid-free experience. When you bring back Labadee, introduce CoCo Cay, sales like this, etc. it’s potentially representative of a big shift. Or just spitballing to see what may work.

So your a TA, but you don’t work for Celebrity, so educated guess but not facts.

 

Private Islands have been a request for Celebrity cruisers.  Labadee and Coco Cay satisfy this until such time a Celebrity private island is developed (which most likely they won’t).  Not sure how this represents a big shift.  A private island where a the drink package and wifi can be used and lounge chairs and food is free is a great stop.  People can worry about the ‘big shift” when Celebrity start adding water slides, rock wall and flow riders to their ships.  Until then people need to chill.

I am confused by these itineraries.  Are they kiddy cruises or booze cruises?

Most or all of the dates do not go to CocoCay, and availability seems to be odds and ends.  Also, there's a good chance the total fare is close to what it would have been under prior promos.  And, at best the promos may generate clicks.  The ability to actually view specific fares, and to confirm the promo is included remains difficult.

Yes the island has slides, which are not just for kids.

 

In my opinion these itineraries are neither booze or kiddy they are simply other options in a competitive cruise market.

 

I would not do a short cruise as I need to fly to Florida.  If I lived in Florida or within driving distance I would most definitely look at these shorter trips.  I could take one with Celebrity and not have to be on Carnival with the "boozers" or RC with kiddies.

When my daughter was in her teens we found ways to make it work with inside rooms on Disney. It is tight at times, but since we weren't in the room much we were able to deal with it. X has well thought out storage so room for clothes should not be an issue. 

 

One thing we did find was that sideways inside rooms with the door on the middle of one side had a much better layout and more floor space, not sure if X has these.

Nope. 20 of the 169 available go to CoCo Cay. 
 

Follow the link, select anything other than Retreat and a Cruise Only rate. The price for 3 and 4 is exactly the same as double occupancy aside from tax and fees.

To the Ops question I say bring it on with the kids. We are so used to it with Disney and RCCL that it has really never bothered us and we did cruises with just the wife and I on those two lines. I know it does bother some, but not us. IMO it might lighten up the crowd. I like X the cruise line, but the crowd is different than the other lines we have sailed.

The kids weren't a problem but the ship was noticeably more crowded.  I'm sure the majority of the children were 3rd&4th in the stateroom.

 

Of course most sailings we are on there are < 10 children.

 

For 5 in a room there are only a handful of rooms that support 5.

There were 500 children onboard our Edge August 12-19 sailing this year in the Med. In every cabin on the ship, including the Retreat areas. I am sure we were over 100% capacity because it seemed more crowded (admittedly to a 2022 sailing).

We were on the sailing after you, also lots of kids.  Was fully sold out but didn't feel too crowded, even on the Retreat Sundeck.

Because it only applies to cruise only rates and cabins up through Concierge Class.

When I was 22, we had 5, YES FIVE, adults in an inside cabin on Carnival. It was absolutely insane LOL. I feel like yes this attracts people with children or maybe even younger college students. I would assume most adults don’t want more than 2 people in a cabin, but I guess I could see three? It would be uncomfortable for me personally.
