Here’s the response from Faxzero. Just wanted everyone to know that it does work. I’ll post again when it’s posted on the Princess page for my cruise.

Anyone know how soon you can apply for the credit?

You & I are on Discovery’s TSE cruise in April 2024 & had my SOBC issued shortly after booking the cruise in August 2022.

That has been my experience since Princess began requiring payment to pre-book tours several years ago to use SOBC as a payment. Outside of North America such as for Australians have read posts that a within 90 day application timeframe is enforced.

My CVP called me today to say that the shareholders benefit had a change this week and is again combinable with the military credit.  She did not give me a date as to when it becomes effective.

For another issue about the combinability of SOBC & MOBC on a future cruise my TA even got misinformation from their Partner Support section who are there to help TAs. Princess does a poor job keeping their reps updated & it took several calls for her to eventually receive accurate information.

Todays tip-

You can submit Shareholders Benefits Requests directly through our website.

Go to Contact us and select Pre-Cruise Support and the Carnival Corporation Shareholder. You will input your information and attach proof of ownership and your shareholders will be added in just a few business days.

Thanks! Here’s the link if anyone is interested. We’ll try it out once we get back home after our current cruise on the CB is over. We have two future cruises we need to have the SOBC reapplied to.

I looked into using this website but found it far easier to send an email with all the required info and a screenshot of the proof of ownership.

Did submit for another cruise last night under DH name, using his email address and his account and it was still applied to my OBC.  Obviously issues to be worked out.  Notification was sent at 12:39pm which adds to my suspicion OBC is being handled off shore.

Is your name listed first on the reservation?

It’s been my experience for many years that when I’m the first name on a reservation and the SOBC application is in my wife’s name it goes to me. When we could talk to those issuing SOBC they always said it goes to the first name listed even when applying in the other passenger’s name who jointly owns the CCL shares.

Yes my name is first.  Only in the last couple of days with attempting to have OBC loaded to the account, with the stock in DH name, has it  been credited to my account.  The stock is in a family trust.

Somebody posted the number for their shareholder OBC rep, who I called once to get it applied for a last-minute cruise. So if somebody is denied, it might help sharing anything official from Princess. The military OBC page says it's combinable with other OBC too. It's definitely lost me Princess loyalty to not have military service and commitment to their poorly-performing, no-dividend stock. I went on a short cruise last month and got $50, but last week went on and HAL and got $150 for one night, since they give $100 military credit for any cruise. So non-combining was the first strike, cutting out free Alfredo's was the second, and if the new no-price-drop policy means no dropping of the single supplement close to sailing, I simply won't find Princess affordable and rewarding enough to sail on as a solo cruiser who cruises frequently and cheaply.

I have been getting both the military and shareholder OBC up until now so I transferred my 100 shares of CCL to my DW's account so we are set for the change.  This may be for the better since Princess requires the money up front for the ship excursions and many times I had to pay cash for the DW's excursions while there was enough OBC I had to pay for it.  Once on the ship it becomes a single pot of money of course.

Yes….I’ve done this before with money that was non refundable & I just loaded it onto my Medallion in the casino & went up the cashier & they gave my the money. My OBC is all marked non refundable.

I used fax & haven’t heard anything. Next time I’ll try email.
